This might seem like a dumb question, but does anyone know for sure if the red Super Mario Bros Wii has the Gamecube ports included on it? I haven't had much luck finding the answer online and I would like to make sure before I buy one. On a related note, the second-hand market for Wiis seem to be exploding, at least in my area. I see TONS of Kijiji and Craigslists ads for used consoles and games, some of them real deals. Now seems to be a fantastic time to buy a used Wii.

I think mas thinks you're talking about the game, not the console.

As far as I know, the red Wii has GC support - I do believe that special edition came out before they removed GC compatability from the system.

Yeah your right I thought he was just talking about the game. The red system does have gamecube ports on top

I just bought a copy of Data East Arcade Classics off of mas. I'm enjoying it right now.

I also went to gameplop recently for their buy two get one sale on wii games. I picked up No More Heroes 2 among others. I can imagine this game becoming more popular in the future. It's not exactly rare, but it's the kind of game that can inspire a cult following later on. It's only a matter of time until we see Suda51 collectors.

Gamestop has it on the cheap if you can find it. My local "transfer in source" store manager requested one confirmed CIB shipped in from another city, hopefully get it soon. I have held off buying this game before since it did not show a Classic Control or Gamecube option on the cover. However, just like Metal Slug also undocumented, Gamecube controllers are supported. Data East now worthy of getting for Arcade controller support. Looking forward to playing Magical Drop with the Tatsunko Capcom Arcade Stick.

Pickings will start to get slim for Wii games now that all three newer consoles are out and competing for shelf space. Dread the day when Gamestop starts gutting out Wii games. Still need to pick up volume 1 of No More Heroes and the Trauma Center series.

Data East Arcade Collection controller compatibility is documented on Amazon's product description. link.
