That sounds like that Persona shit. I can't think of anything more boring or more likely to make me want to stop playing.Stark wrote: Are you doing that Dave, making sure to pair up male/female characters a lot so they advance in relationship?

Re: RPG Progress Report
It's much simpler than that. It's an extension of the existing support conversations; males and females who can marry can get to an S level support, every other support combination is an A level support. Supports give you stat buffs if the units are in adjacent squares or pair up (and pairing up is an easy way to give yourself stat boosts outside the support levels). Basically all you do is find an eligible male and female and have them fight together for enough actions to get their support level to S. It's nowhere near like the Persona S.Links.dsheinem wrote:That sounds like that Persona shit. I have had some of this happen by default as I've been playing but I feel like every battle has been an immense cakewalk and any benefits from pairing are not worth considering/fretting about.MrPopo wrote:It's much simpler than that. Also: why no same-sex relationships?

Because there are no orphanages in Fire Emblem, so the only way to have kids is to do it the old fashioned way.dsheinem wrote:I have had some of this happen by default as I've been playing but I feel like every battle has been an immense cakewalk and any benefits from pairing are not worth considering/fretting about.MrPopo wrote:It's much simpler than that. As for when you do the pairing, the way it works is that aside from Chrom, every marriage pairing has no time limit on when it needs to be done; once you finally S-rank a particular female a paralogue will open on the map and you get access to the kid. Chrom is special in that the story events force him to get married at the end of Chapter 11. If you're a power gamer you'll have to pay attention to that, otherwise don't worry. All his marriage candidates work well, unless you go completely out of your way to never build relationship with any of them (and that requires a lot of work).

Also, you're on chapter 5. You've practically just finished the tutorial. The game gets much harder, although I still think it's a fair bit easier overall than previous entries.

I've gotten to December in Valkyira Chronicles II. This is the last month, but the story feels like it's just started. Are they going to cram it all in at the end?

They go to A but no gay marriage. These relationships are easy.dsheinem wrote:I have had some of this happen by default as I've been playing but I feel like every battle has been an immense cakewalk and any benefits from pairing are not worth considering/fretting about.MrPopo wrote:It's much simpler than that. If you think the game is a cake walk, what difficulty is it on? I have it on hard and it can be difficult at times...

Short answer, yes. VCII's story is definitely weak. It makes me sad that VCIII didn't come over, since it's supposed to have a much better story plus all the additions VCII had.Valkyrie-Favor wrote:I've gotten to December in Valkyira Chronicles II. There's a fan translation in the works for VCIII, right?MrPopo wrote:Short answer, yes. VCII's story is definitely weak. I'm still on VC1. Chapter 14, I'm getting close.
I want to try out VC2, but I'm kinda bracing myself for disappointment.

The default I think. At your suggestion I am playing the style without permadeath, but seeing as how no one has died yet I haven't ever had to worry about it.If you think the game is a cake walk, what difficulty is it on? I have it on hard and it can be difficult at times...
