But Super Monkey Ball is available on 3 different consoles :? It's on Gamecube, PS2 and oXbox. There's also a similar game called Super Monkey Ball Jr. for GBA.

Yah true, but it was a real sting cuz I joined the forum in mid November so I really couldn't start up Shining Force, which I did have in a couple forms, then they went right to that game in December.

It's ok, after Axelay and Dragon Blaze I may find myself needing a break, heck maybe I'll try for a good score on Guardian Legend in shmup mode with TGL password too  I'll make it my *own* Compile month!

Glad to see some Batrider love here so far. Remember you can use your Battle Garegga ships there too!

Check out 1944 The Loop Master too, you won't be disappointed

argh, beating me by 150 points is cruel. I guess I have to give MAME another run :(

That's it? I thought it was more  I would have done better if losing your first life doesn't mean your game literally being over at that point -- it's brutal. Haven't even SEEN the 2nd boss yet there.

I think your Genesis score is still safe -- I didn't even beat Hobie? I'll have to re-attempt that too

Yeah I'd say we got enough votes.

+13 Great Mahou Daisakusen/Dimahoo
+12 Battle Garegga
+11 Armed Police Batrider
+5 Soukyugurentai
+3 Shippu Mahou Daisakusen/Kingdom Grand Prix
+2 Mahou Daisakusen/Sorcer Striker
+2 1944 The Loop Master

Another close one, Great Mahou it is. These votes always end up being very interesting to count. Taito next?

Oh man, so close for Garegga. Oh well, not like I won't play it anyway...

I didn't realize Dimahoo had NO ports at all.

As for Taito:

+3 Space Invaders (the original)
+2 Space Invaders Extreme (PSP/NDS/XBLA)
+1 Darius Gaiden

I was secretly hoping Garegga would win, I haven't put that much time into, but it's talked up so much.

I'm not entirely sure how to list candidates in the OP this time, there's no HG101 Taito shmup article, and Taito has so many games that posting the Wiki page might end up being a little confusing.

Oy! A close loss for Batrider fans (like myself) and Garegga fans (many others) -- heard of Dimahoo but haven't tried it. Then again, not many knew about Truxton (or ExedExes!) Ah, but it got that many votes for a reason.

It's gonna be tough for Taito, not only is there no HG101 or Wiki writeup on their shmups, but there are so MANY good ones.

Fortunately, it will be a slam dunk for I have Taito Legends 1 & 2 for the PC, so no problem with whatever we choose.

I will try to help out with all the various Taito choices in the next post.
