I like how they've handled Bunker in Teen Titans. He's gay and they don't hit you over the head with it. He's a likable character too.

I don't know about the rest of you, but it seems a bit excessive how they start every Batwoman issue with a description of the character that includes "proud lesbian." DC is not one for subtlety it seems. I'm not gay, so I can't speak for gay people, but do you guys walk around announcing it to everyone every day?

Is there a cross-over comic run of Venom where he doesn't come off as a hero? There are some ill advised murders in some of his books, but in the end it's usually "Until next time Spider-Man!".

How about making new intersting characters that happen to be gay, instead of starting from making them gay as their only character trait or retconning characters to be gay.

I mean look at the new Blue Bettle. He was a new character that happeend to be Latino and they didnt beat you over the head with that fact. He was a normal teenager that happened to be Latino, he was normal.

I'm reading a bunch of Bat stuff right now and really having fun. I've read Battle for the Cowl, Under the Hood, and started reading Batgirl Year One and Batman War Crimes. Before 2012 comes to a close, I plan on being well versed in all things Batman. I really want to read some great Cassandra Cain stories. Anyone have any recommendations?

Reading Under the Hood for the first time, I have to say that the Under the Red Hood movie is a very good adaptation and better than the comic in some parts. Overall though, the comic book storyline is of course better. It fleshes out Jason Todd's back story quite a bit more and that's fascinating stuff. I wish there could have been some bonus post credit sequence or extra DVD scene showing those events leading up to his return to Gotham. It's powerful stuff in the comic book and makes his view of things make sense.

Movie doesn't have Superboy punching reality to bring Todd back to life, so that's a pretty big improvement right there.

Yeah that part in the comic struck me as weird, but the stuff with Talia is what I found really interesting. That's more what I was referring to
