The best thing the grinder can do is two oranges plus a purple gives you an orange of the purple's type. So if you're really trying hard to get an orange SMG you can toss any two other oranges plus a purple SMG.

Awesome, thanks for that tip. I figured out some of the recipes - like Shield, Pistol, and SMG = Shotgun, I had no idea it would do something like that.

If you guys have any toons around lvl 50 I'd like to join you. I have a Commando/Soldier at lvl 50. I don't know how tweaked I am, though. I don't have any truly legendary weapons as of late.
