I don't like RTS games because they've become so much about certain "builds" and are so focused on crazy fast management of various point locales. Warcraft was about as crazy as I could handle. Turn-based for me all the way, if at all, with maybe the exception of Myth. Myth was RTT (tactics, instead of strategy), with fewer units to track and no resources to manage, which was more my style. Was great for co-op multiplayer, too.

Thanks for the recommendation! Watched a few episodes with a friend yesterday, and got many a big belly-laugh. Probably gonna buy the DVD on Amazon just so I can own it FOREVER.

The Critic is definitely worth owning. I've also got the DVD set that includes both seasons. I've watched it all the way through a few times with various people. I haven't met anyone who doesn't enjoy it other than my wife. But she doesn't like any kind of animated anything, which I will never understand, but can ruefully accept.

Here's another old cartoon series I love but have never heard anyone else talk about ever: Maybe we should start an unpopular cartoon opinion thread for this stuff. :)

I'd like for Nintendo to make bad girl versions of Peach and Daisy. I mean, Wario and Waluigi need lovin' too.

HOLY SHIT

I used to have Rude Dog on a VHS that was taped off TV. Watched it a TON growing up. I always have to remind myself it actually existed, because you never hear about it ever.

File this under "unpopular" but I never cared for Western animation, generally speaking. So much of it feels like it's drawn to look intentionally ugly and most everything seems to fall under the "Saturday morning cartoon" or "teenage edgelord" umbrellas.

When I said "animated", I meant not just Western style, but CG rendered, and yes also anime. I've shown her top tier anime films and she didn't give half a shit.

Oh well, at least she likes video games. :)

I agree, but one caveat: the artwork and animation in season 1 of DuckTales and Ninja Turtles looks friggin fantastic, it's amazing work that holds up so well. And then for season 2 of both, it's like they cut the budget in half and the quality went off a cliff.

I always thought the Batman cartoon had a neat look.
