I know I'm late to the party on this one, but my wife and I finally saw Black Swan tonight.
To sum up my feelings, I have to say...
God Damn.
What was the last movie you've seen?

Belly
Its the definition of all style and no substance but it has a great soundtrack so it almost evens out.

Watched The Thief of Bagdad and The Spiral Staircase on TCM the other night. I really enjoyed The Thief of Bagdad. I gotta say, I'm developing a fondness for the silent movies of old. All the giant over-produced sets and overacting are just really enjoyable to watch. Sure, sometimes I find myself thinking up MST3k style riffs in my head, but back then everyone just looks so ernest that you can't really call them bad. (At least not the ones they show on TCM.)
And The Spiral Staircase was a nice little thriller. They threw in just enough doubt to keep me guessing who the killer was, up till the end. Good movies.

Oh yes, I loved it. Sorry for not being very clear about that.KillerJuan77 wrote:Did you like it?CFFJR wrote:I know I'm late to the party on this one, but my wife and I finally saw Black Swan tonight.

Yeah, that was a good "God Damn". The sort of "God Damn" one utters breathlessly with wide eyes.
It was a really good movie.
Also, Mila Kunis is awesome. Like always.

Thirst, all I can say is that the film is a bit inconsistent, it's both erotic and grotesque. 2 words that shouldn't go on the same sentence. I still loved it.
I have yet to see it, which is quite shocking considering the fact that I love bizarre, extreme or controversial movies.REPO Man wrote:Fritz the Cat. Loved it.

If you have NetFlix, stream it. They also have the sequel.KillerJuan77 wrote:Thirst, all I can say is that the film is a bit inconsistent, it's both erotic and grotesque. 2 words that shouldn't go on the same sentence. I still loved it.

As for thirst, I've heard of it and have it on my Watch Instantly queue. The cover art reminds me of The Hunger.

Have you seen who directs the film? Chan-Wook Park from Oldboy, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and Sympathy for Lady Vengeance.REPO Man wrote:If you have NetFlix, stream it. They also have the sequel.
