I just got my Wii in the mail and played MK8 for a little over an hour. The gamepad does feel weird after prolonged use. I guess a better word would be unconventional. It's not necessarily bad but a regular controller would be better. Maybe It just needs a little getting use to.

BestBuy has a clear gamepad case on clearance for $2. With store pickup it comes out to $2.15. Even with shipping it's not too bad. It's a Rocketfish product so most likely isn't cheap China plastic. Store pickup takes generally 3 - 7 days.

Is anyone else excited about Splatoon? I think this game looks really really fun. Hopefully they can nail online multiplayer. More unique exclusive IPs like this is exactly what the WiiU needs over the next few years...

I'm definitely interested in Splatoon, I'll likely buy it. But I don't know if I'm gonna "love it" or not until I get my hands on it.

I agree on whether I'll love it or not... But Im just happy to see something so creative and free spirited being developed and published by Nintendo. Something besides their same old franchises is nice to see...

On the plus side, you can be assured the on-line should be smooth, based on what we have experienced with Mario Kart 8. That is reassuring and, I may even play with the motion controls....cause I'm cool like that!

Protip. Anytime there is a first person mode where you use the pad to look around. Sit in a spinning office chair. Things get 1 million times more awesome. I use that to rock the Metroid Nintendoland game as the ship and use it for sniping in games like Zombie U and WindWaker HD.

That is the stupidest and most brilliant thing I have ever heard of for playing a game. You have inspired me to try even odder setups.

I've done that here and there since the arrival of the boxed version of Steel Diver. Since they took the most fun mode (torpedo run) and forced it to be a lame motion game, there was no good way to play the game without a chair to spin around in to hit targets before they got you in that timed event.

True, but Mario Kart Wii was pretty smooth online also. I think Smash Bros is going to be the big one on everyone's mind when it comes to online play as Brawl was a very big disappointment, which is a shame because Brawl was a good take on Smash Bros.
