What RPG are you playing right now?

I picked up World of Final Fantasy last night. It is more properly titled World of Shounen Fantasy; I'm only a couple hours in but so far the story is shounen as fuck and knows it. It's even got an anime intro once you get past the setup.

Yeah that's what I was afraid of. Thanks for taking a hit for the team. Definitely looking forward to your overall consensus once you are done with it. As I said earlier, the character designs are very unappealing to me. I hope the gameplay makes up for it though. Also your review of Tyranny has me stoked to play it someday.

Speaking of spin-offs, has anyone played Final Fantasy Explorers? That one seemed to fly under the radar.

Speaking of which... I downloaded Final Fantasy Dimensions (Android) the other night. This is a legit game (not freemium crap) and I am looking forward to sinking some time into it when I have a chance. It's pretty rad, like most of the recent series spin-offs I've played. Only thing I don't like is the super-smooth hi-res graphics, though that seems typical for these Android games.

How much is it on Android? Square/Enix games on iOS are crazy expensive (compared to other iOS games). The Dragon Quest ports go on sale from time-to-time, however.

I was really disappointed in it. I got hella bored hella fast. I seem to be a minority, though, at least among Final Fantasy fans.

I honestly don't even mind the aesthetics to World of Final Fantasy or that it sounds like the story is pretty hammy, but monster capturing combat systems... BLAGH
