I must be imagining things; wow, a rational, coherent article about Shenmue 3, without any tabloid style, sensationalist, bullshit.

I'm gobsmacked.

Yes. That is the studio that Yu Suzuki founded once he departed his duties at AM2.

So I just read on PushSquare that SEGA has bought the domain for ShenmueHD.com. Could we see HD remasters of Shenmue and Shenmue II on PS4??? I hope so!

I'd guess it's just a case of them protecting their IP and securing likely domains in case they ever do get off their arses, probably.

Haha well if it makes you feel better, a couple of days before E3 2015, when people had found out Yu Suzuki was attending the event and whipped themselves into a frenzy in excitement of a potential Shenmue 3 announcement, I was probably the negative pessimist who was saying "c'mon guys, Shenmue 3 is never coming out. Give it up." :P

Considering your avatar Reprise, you don't want to hear this... but I am 10x more excited for all the Yakuza we're getting this year. Can't wait to get deeper into that series, only played 3 so far.

I've been wondering if I should just jump to Shenmue 2 and give it a shot. I really struggled to get into the first game.

It is important to play through all the shenmue games in order to get a broader feel of its themes and elements. There is a reason as to why the game is as slow as it is and a lot of it has to deal with building the characters and understanding motivation. I don't know why people find the game dull. It seems as if most of the people play for the first 15 minutes and give up as things can move along at a brisk pace as long as you talk to people around you.

Yes... Shenmue 2 is a lot faster pace, bigger and more grandiose, but you need to have the earlier element to be a sharp contrast. Shenmue 1 takes place in familiar territory, your home. There everyone knows who you are and knows your predicament and cares about you for the most part, whereas in Shenmue 2, you are completely alone and in a hostile environment.

Trust me that by playing the two back to back you can start to get a good feel as to why they were done the way that they were. It isn't your typical game.
