Heh your lucky you can read Japanese, how much did that set you back? $5? Famicom games in general are so frigging cheap and the rpgs on it are even cheaper. I have the translation rom on my everdrive, I just can't get past the music, it makes my ears bleed compared to the soothing master system version.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Those backlit GBAs are beautiful. I prefer the button layout on the original to the SP.
I got my first CIB Famicom game today. Try to guess what it is...

Yes and yes!Hobie-wan wrote: Inner plastic baggie? Reg card?
Didn't think they looked very flattering in the photo though.
Actually it's a lot different. Like the DS version of Ys I & II development was handed over to a third party and not handled by Falcom themselves. The dungeons have been altered some, there's at least one new boss, and the ending sequence has been changed as well.Stark wrote: I didn't know that came out for the Famicom. Is it basically like the SMS port?
I'd day it's inferior to the SMS version overall though. Movement in the Famicom game is kinda slow and clunky.
Ys II and III are also on Famicom, gotta get those next.
It was cheap, yeah...ninjainspandex wrote: Heh your lucky you can read Japanese, how much did that set you back? $5? The SMS version of the OST is superior, but it sound even better in the Japanese version.
For what it's worth, the Japanese Saturn version of the game is quite English-friendly. I'd imagine you'd find it fully playable.

I'm preeeetty sure I know what you have in mind here. Its a great idea, and I will be bidding on it!jmbarnes101 wrote: Darkstalkers comic Issue 2 (covers A & B) - $0.50 each

I have a specific plan for these that I'm hoping to put together as a one of a kind item for the December auction

Some recent Goodwill and retro game store acquisitions

Mortal Kombat Deception (Xbox)
Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance (Xbox)
Sonic Mega Collection Plus (Xbox)
Pikman (GC)
Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs (DS)
Finally, a complete copy of Pikman and with a scratch free disc to boot. I've been wanting to find a damn copy of that for a while now and I'm so happy that I finally got one that I don't even care that it's Player Choice
On to my shelf next to Pikman 2 it shall now go.
And just to note, Deception did not come with the bonus disc, but that's okay. I really just wanted to play Mortal Kombat Chess anyway
Oh, and this finally came in the mail:

Shiny......
Drakengard 3 (PS3)
Don't know if the CE was worth it, but it sure does look pretty.
Not pictured:
Final Fantasy XIII (360)
Alice Madness Returns (360)
Okami (PS2)

Re: Games Acquired 2014
Over Memorial Day found some games of mine at the parents' house, including some PC games with solid nostalgic value:
Dreamcast (all disc only)
Crazy Taxi
Tomb Raider The Last Revelation
NBA 2K1
San Francisco Rush 2049
Japanese packaged soundtrack: Shenmue
PC
No One Lives Forever
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri
Tom Clancy's Rogue Spear
Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition
Forsaken
Gazillionaire
I actually love Gazillionaire so that was like seeing an old friend. Guess I'll get DOS Box or whatever up and running. Also, the weird thing about the disc only DC games is that I have literally no idea how I acquired them. No clue where they came from. It's especially odd since I've always had a copy of Crazy Taxi. Someone must've given them to me I guess.

Re: Games Acquired 2014
speaking of R4 is that the best one on the market right now for DS games? I really want to play the translated rom of fire emblem for the DS, but I only have a 3DS XL, will a R4 work on that?Sano wrote:Can I include all the games on my R4 and EverDrive?![]()

Re: Games Acquired 2014
The R4 is awesome! I got the one that said it worked with the DS. Little confused about compatibility though. I've been told that the 3DS needs a specific R4 card. I've also been told that the R4 won't even work with the 3DS; That you need a different brand of flashcard.ninjainspandex wrote:speaking of R4 is that the best one on the market right now for DS games? My suggestion is to do a little investigative research to see which card you actually need. Once you find it, get it and you'll have 0 buyers remorse, I can tell you that much!
