There is no way I can afford crusader without selling a bunch of stuff for one game.
In the meantime my money was refunded for grind stormer and I just got rolling thunder 3 and something I have been wanted to get a hold of for the genesis.
The power base converter. Both came up to as much as I got grind stormer. Gotta get some sms controllers and just get hang on for now and maybe astro warrior. They sell SMS games kind of cheap at my retro store.

FYI, you can just use a Genesis pad for most games with the power base convertor. There are a few that it won't work, like there are a few games like F-16 that don't work with the convertor.

Yeah I know Hobie. But I want just one SMS controller. I like the way the SMS controller feels

BoneSnapDeez wrote:Yeah, Crusader of Centy is a bad choice. It plays like a vastly inferior version of Link to the Past and is additionally expensive as hell.

If you're looking for a "beginner's" action-RPG with a similar feel you're better off going with Beyond Oasis, Ys III, or Exile.
I never played Link to the Past so I don't know what I'm missing there, but on its own I do think Crusader of Centy is a good game. There are so many games that are priced in the triple digits that are mediocre or just plain dog shit IMO. It's at least a fun, well-made game that just so happens to be rare. Worth the price? Well not to me but I would say that about most retro games over $20-30.

glad I got mine at a garage sale for a dollar....sorry had to mention it

Alien Syndrome for SMS is one notable game that does not work with the Genesis controller.

I will be visiting a decent retro-store tomorrow.

Any suggestions for Genesis shmups that aren't super hard (since I suck at shmups) or super expensive?

Thanks!

Bioo-Hazard Battle is tough, but not impossible, and it's usually affordable, but is very visually impressive.

Sorry, sorry! It's been a little while since I played my copy and I couldn't remember if the music was awesome or just OK. I remember it wasn't bad, that's for sure. Still, I don't recall this being an expensive title, so that confluence of goodness makes it a great pick.
