VGA looks so much better you might almost think the DC is current gen. For the few games that wont boot VGA, most of them have been patched if you dont mind burning some CDs.

You can run the SVideo or Composite bypass if you buy the VGA box
Just for the games that won't work in VGA. Attach the SVideo or Composite to your other VGA adaptor. SVideo is a better connection and direct VGA is the best. Your current Composite to VGA setup will not give you true 640 x 480 resolution, just a stepped up composite upscale. For both VGA boxes you can get a basic VGA switch box. Meanwhile the Nintendo SNES-N64-Gamecube VGA box you posted a while back has an auxiliary VGA input.
no I can't. I'm using a VGA monitor. I don't want to dick around with a VGA input AND a composite to VGA input and then need a VGA switch box too.

OK.

Which games won't you be able to play that you want to play? Only two quality games come to mind that don't support VGA-out, VGA-switch toggle-trick (nothing has to be plugged into the composite-out, just toggle the switch when you hear your DC boot), or even patching and running from a CD/SD -- Bangai-O and Plasma Blade. (NTSCU)

The only game I've tried to make work with the Gameshark disk that didn't was Airforce Delta, which actually is one of my favorites. It doesn't look bad over S-Video though. I'll need to see if Bangai-O won't work by that method.

as stated previously, I prefer to collect (and play) actual retail games. Anything I burn to play is homebrew/emulator/etc. Call me weird. Just what I want to do. I'm sure pure VGA looks great -- but I don't like the idea of limiting myself or having to research if a game is compatible. And quite honestly, I'm not bothered by my setup right now.

Right. So you still buy all the games you want, but when you find a game that doesn't work with VGA you burn it as well. :P Your choice, of course.

We're just suggesting it for the good of mankind. :P

I'm not even sure using a CDR of the game is necessary, almost everything I have works with the Gameshark disk (which you can burn an image of just for boot purposes).

(iirc it was often Capcom games that didn't)

LOL! Out of the extensive game catalog that Capcom has on the Dreamcast. Only 2 games aren't VGA comptible (Plasma Sword, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure).
