I Haven't played BL2 for quite some time. I finished the last big DLC that came out and that was it. I should jump in because believe it or not, for the 75+ hours I put in, not one minute was played with another person.

Well, part of why I hopped on was the sale. I bought a little extra DLC to that I have all the non-costume content. I wish I had more friends on my Steam list at about my same level (50) so I could play with some RB folks.

So, even though Presequel is out, we are still playing BL2. And getting into the high level play, the game starts to scare me. People have tweaked the game to the point that it is scary. Like killing raidbosses in fractions of a second.

The BL2 engine has some interesting issues, like if Salvador is gunzerking the damage and element type of his right gun can be applied to his left. Combining a specialty gun like the Grog Nozzle (pistol that slags from the 4th DLC), with a Conference call, a Salvador can get through most of the game without issue. But what gets interesting is when you combine a Pimpernel (specialty sniper rifle that at a certain distance causes the shot to mushroom up and become eight smaller shots, all at max power), with a high powered rocket launcher, and the ability Money Shot (extra crit damage), you can literally two shot almost anything in the game (some bosses can only die in one location so you have to two shot them).

And dont even get started on how broken the mechromancer can become in a short time. Anarchy Mecho with a Twister. Once she gets 100ish stacks, she does not die, ever. Unless Noise is playing and he gets hit by a train.

I even surprise myself sometimes. How did I manage to get hit by a train in mid-air?

Back at launch the combo (since nerfed) was to combine a Conference Call with a Bee to destroy the raid bosses pretty instantly. The game really does capture the spirit of Diablo loot piñatas.

That combo was eclipsed early with the Bee/Babymaker build. It was the go to until the Evil Smasher bug was found. I used that one a couple times to farm seraph crystals off Voracidous, especially since there was the other bug where you could fight Voracidous multiple times in a row. I killed him up to five times before I had to leave the area and come back.

It got eclipsed cause they nerfed the Bee; it used to be the full Amp would trigger on every single projectile, but they nerfed it so it would divide based on the multiplier listed on the card.

From what I gathered BLPS was reviewed lower and people don't want to spend $60 for the game especially if some reviews stated basically its BL2.5.

I don't own it yet and have not played it so I can't comment on the game. But I'll still get it.

The quick look on Giantbomb was good and Jeff's comments coincide with some of those not so favorable reviews. I liked what I saw. Its more Borderlands. That's all I care about.

That and the Babymaker can do exponentially more damage with the bee. A Guaranteed Babymaker at level 34 can do stock 1700 damage with 34 in the clip. Add a tediore relic and you have 50ish in the clip. After firing one shot you can reload and it will do 8000k damage. If you have a level 50 one, it will do more like 1.2m damage. I never found one better than my level 34 one though. Coupling the Bee and Babymaker, you can get around 1m at lvl40. Now you go through ammo like it is candy, but for raid bosses it was pretty amazing. Babymaker/Bee was nerfed aswell.

A buddy of mine farmed them until he got a perfect one at level 50. Which only took him a month of playing it a few hours every day...

It is big enough that it is a justified purchase for another title. The issue most people seem to have is that they view it as Borderlands 3, when it is not. It is Borderlands 2 on the moon with butt slams. Oh and the grinder, my absolute favorite new addition. Put in three items you dont need, and it gives you back a possibly better item.
