Ahahaha

I don't think I've had an actual other player invade yet, or coop (I've tried using the NPCs more though). Arguably, some of the design probably favors coop play. With the NPC invaders that show up regardless of character state, I guess they focused more on multiplayer.

Yeah, I did a STR/Faith build for Lightning Spear and whatnot, it was still awesome though. But I did hear they nerfed it a lot.

Still, magic actually did something. Unlike in Dark Souls 3. :roll: :lol:

Started Fire Emblem if Special Edition today.

Not really sure when the versions diverge. There was no Conquest or Rebirth option at the start, so I assume I just have that choice when I get to chapter 6 or whatever? I remember hearing about some sort of shift at that point. I'm only a couple chapters in at the moment, so I haven't gotten into the nitty gritty of the special mechanics of this game yet.

It reuses quite a lot of assets from Awakening, which isn't really too surprising because they're probably in the same engine. It's just stuff like Dark King Garon (I have no idea what his name in English is, but that's his Japanese one) clearly having the same character model as Mad King Gangrel from Awakening that makes it more obvious that they're in the same engine. Though I will admit, I liked Gangrel far more as a character. He's probably one of my favorite FE villains ever.

Chapter 6 is when you get the choice between the different paths. The intro leading up to that is always the same; the game even lets you start from chapter 6 on subsequent new games using the character stats from the last time you got to chapter 6.

Does Revelations come on the cartridge, or did the game just come with a code for its download? I don't remember how it was advertised, but I seem to remember that being the case.

Couldn't tell you. I wasn't lucky enough to get the special edition cart.

1. Big Asylum boss guy clobbered me. I didn't realize I should avoid him at first.
2. Something shot me in the face with an arrow.
3. Asylum boss again. Almost got him this time.
4. Two skeletons teamed up on me. It said "blood loss"?

The skeletons probably inflicted Bleed, which is a damage over time status. Generally, you want to be dodging or shield blocking to not get directly hit. Depending on the weapon you've got, you may be able to interrupt their attacks by hitting them.

You can get a good head start on the Asylum Demon by doing a dropping attack, something the game wants to teach you as a possible tactic for the next boss. Otherwise try to stay behind him. Try to learn to use the target lock early as well, since you don't -always- want to use it, but being able to fluidly swap between locked on or not made a big difference for me. Not so much for that boss, but I basically had to learn it to beat some later ones.

I'm a Pyromancer so I've got an axe and small shield.

BUT OMG I forgot about the target lock thing. That would have helped a lot haha. I actually beat the Asylum boss on my 3rd try last night. 8)
