What was the last movie you've seen?

I actually really like Sin City.
Have you watched it lately? Not being condescending, just wondering.
No, I haven't watched it since probably the year after it came out. It has been a while so it bears revisiting soon.

Can you recommend any other films to see?

Always! Of course, STANDING OVATION is possibly the best worst movie ever but if you are wondering on what I really like, you've probably already viewed them. But!

HARVEY. It's not for everyone, but it certainly is well scripted and the casting is nothing short of perfection. What "A Wonderful Life" is to Christmas is what "Harvey" is to me in life; finding happiness. Not Stewart's best acting, but that is like saying "Well, that wasn't Phelps best lap".

TERMINATOR 2. Goofy, fun, violent, and perhaps the best Summer movie ever to have the number "2" in the title. Screw that, it may be the best Summer movie sequel of all time (I'm pretty sure Godfather II was not released in the Summer, but I could be wrong). I love it when a director or writer acknowledges their previous work for what it was, and builds on the good and bad points and does it well at the same time. Their are a few slow points, but they don't really feel slow as they add to the story and the ideology of the premise of Cameron's view of a possible future.

DUCK SOUP. The blueprint for comedy and entertainment. Julius Marx was not only the funniest man to have walked this planet, but maybe also one of the smartest. Yes, he was no Einstein, but even Einstein didn't think Einstein was an Einstein...Maybe that didn't make much sense, but in short Einstein never thought he was brilliant. In my heart, I think Julius knew how smart he was, and his memoirs reflect that. To me DUCK SOUP trained me on how to slide in mature jokes in otherwise normal situations. There's something to be said about jokes that make you think and do a double take, and boy did the Marx brothers perfect that skill and no one has come close to matching their wit.

HOWARD THE DUCK. Kidding.

MONSTER SQUAD. Just like THE GOONIES (and now SUPER 8, another Amblin film I believe) a lot of movies starring kids just kick ass and I hope to see more of them (not of the sharkboy or Spy kids genre). MONSTER SQUAD is pure kid fun that is applicable to both young kids and us old farts. All action, all monsters, and all the kid characters that everyone can relate to. It's cheesy but not to the point that the movie is all cheese. The funny lines are all delivered well, and though the "we may be getting divorced" subplot is played out, a great Father and Son relationship comes across as a very feasible situation that kids and adults can relate to.

I could go on forever, but lots to do...

I saw Unknown on the way back from Japan. I thought it was pretty decent, especially as I hadn't heard of it before. Granted viewing it on the back of a plane seat wasn't optimal.

I think my idea for a green lantern movie was better; Having the previous green lantern retire and train the new one. Haven't seen that done in a superhero movie yet.

I watched Cannibal Holocaust with my BF, she loved it (Although saying "love" at a film like that is a bit relative...) although she was a bit horrified with "The Last Road to Hell" part.

Still, I actually think it's one of the best exploitation films of all time and that it carries an intense message that some people can't see due to the shocking content.

If you can count Zorro as a superhero then "The Mask of Zorro" fits that bill perfectly.

Wears weird outfit, is a vigilante, has secret identity, fights bad guys and has a mysterious larger than life quality to him that makes him more than a man. It's definitely a superhero movie. He counts about as much as Batman I'd say. I enjoyed The Mask of Zorro. Antonio is just good in those types of roles like Angelina Jolie is great as an action heroine. Oh, and Catherine Zeta Jones was just damn gorgeous

I'm trying to think of a way to say this without being a jerk, but have you seen Batman Begins? Same premise of passing the torch.

Yes I'm outspoken, and yes at times I realize I can be a hypocrite, but as far as movies go there is no doubt in my mind that the GL is one of the worst Summer movies of all time. It's crap. Not the worst Summer movie of all time, but there are no redeeming qualities in the movie whatsoever.

Ten years ago I wouldn't believe a "Bridesmaids" movie would trump a "GL" movie, but how wrong I was.

Ha! What did you think? I loved it as a little kid, but seeing it when I was older made think it was one of the cheesiest things ever made.
Cheesy horror is sorta my thing, so I loved it! One of the most psychedelic of all the Hammer horror films that I've seen.
