Rudras has been on my want list for a long time. The price is a little steep though (almost as bad as buying a North American release amirite?).

Any chance you have a Retron 5? It allows for IPS/UPS patching so I've been playing some of these games in English. It's quite the game-changer.
Thanks for watching! And yeah I do a good chunk of recording on a Retron 5 that a fellow moderator of the SNES subreddit sold me. That's how I recorded a few of these games for that video, although a few of the English patches just didn't take for whatever reason. The Ys IV one would work for like 2 minutes, then it would go back to kanji. No idea what caused that.

It can be finicky.

Mess with the header settings if you need to.

I was able to find at least one working patch for all of my patch-able games.

Wasn't there talk of soft-patching in an update? Or did I imagine that?

You'll have to tell me what that is.

Soft patching... Sounds so creamy and gentle.

soft patching is when the original rom is not altered, the emulator temporarily patches it. regular patching you take the original rom and patch it and that rom is forever patched.

Sounds like that's what it is then.

You can apply and disable patches at will.

I've had all sorts of totally random, goofy issues with recording through the Retron 5, like English patches flaking out and the Super Game Boy only having the border and sound recorded but not the GB game itself. I'm in too over my head when it comes to this stuff, I just clean all my stuff as best I can and hope for the best.

Nice. I have this book too. Lots of nice pictures in it.

Glad to see it given some attention.
