I enjoy ePSXe's graphical enhancements, but the portability of the PSP for playing PS1 games is hard to beat admittedly. If you need any help with PS1 emulation (not saying you do, just saying IF), these tutorials are great:

King's Field IV is harder than King's Field II, insofar as combat and enemy threats is concerned. However I found world navigation to be trickier in King's Field II than I did King's Field IV. The island of Melanat is internally quite labyrinthine, fully of hidden doors and recursive tunnels, it's a serious maze when you finally get every door unlocked. But those mine carts are fun to ride!
The actual hardest King's Field though, at least IMO, is King's Field III. That game can be utterly brutal at times, not to mention absolutely cryptic. The easiest King's Field is the Japanese original.
But yeah, to put it midly, I'm a huge King's Field fan. I've finished every one of them, including the Japanese original, and even King's Field III's "
Pilot Style" offshoot. I even bothered to beat Shadow Tower 1 & 2, and Eternal Ring. So if you ever want to have an indepth conversation about these games, I'm more than happy to do so.
