Honestly, that is kind of the reaction I expected when I wrote I was underwhelmed by Trick 'r Treat...

No worries, I expect other folks are baffled by my low opinion of V/H/S.

I'm not, actually. The anthology has a decent framing device, but only three of the five stories are any good.

Behind the Mask was definitely a comedy first IMO, taking place in a horror/slasher universe.

I need to see Ginger Snaps. I tend to like werewolf films.

You should definitely see the Rob Zombie flicks (Corpses & Rejects). Not my favorite but scary thinking there could be (and are) sickos out there like the characters in the movie.

lol... I only remember 3 of the 5 stories in VHS. The other 2 were forgettable, literally.
the vampire one was the best. she flies off with him lol.

That one is my favorite as well. The last one, where the Halloween partiers mistake an exorcism for a totally awesome Halloween party, was also a lot of fun.

Is that even possible?

Speaking of the impossible, or as Ralph W. would say "unpossible", every Capcom 8 and 16 bit Ghosts and Goblins game, aka ghouls n ghosts, this past week/weekend. These games are terribly terrific. Unrelenting, gorgeous, difficult, infuriating, but somehow fun. And I'm in the very slim minority here, but I don't mind the second play on the snes.It gives you the false sense of "this will be a snap the second time" type of feeling.

Spoiler: It won't be a snap, and the red dragons will still kick your tail.

Shoot, I totally forgot you asked about this one, TSTR. Yes, my rare video rental store has it. In fact apparently it's a favorite of one of the staff.

Good stuff! I actually noticed that you can get Chester N. Turner flicks off Amazon now. What a wonderful world we live in.

Don't worry about it. The sequel was severely dumb.
There's some lore, but I didn't think it was worth seeing.

I feel that it is, overall, a by the numbers horror sequel.
