I knew I had played this at home recently - forgot it was a bonus unlockable on the Capcom Arcade Cabinet on PS3.
Quick rule clarifier - auto fire yay or nay?

Nice score to start there RSG.
If your port has autofire, go for it. I prefer the fast tapping myself, because I'm used to it. If you use the Shell weapon, it also fires rapidly.
I'll be visiting a 60-in-1 cab that has it next week, so I'll see how good I do there too.

800K plus on a 60-in-1 today. Button was sticking, wish I could have done better. -

So ExedExes - any basic gameplay best practices for this one that you can share?
The shotgun is great as it eats bullets. I think that becomes available in Stage 2.

I am not Exed, but I can help!retrosportsgamer wrote:So ExedExes - any basic gameplay best practices for this one that you can share?

Shotgun is available at first powerup, just gotta cycle to it. Make sure to get the options too, as they help with fire spread and damage control.
I find that as long as I can keep the shotgun powered up and my options around (in that order of importance), the lifebar becomes of little concern. I never grab POW if the weapon timer is 30 or less.
Point blanking the waves of popcorns helps a lot to keep the screen empty of stray aimed bullets.
Don't be afraid to use the loop to get out of tight spots, especially if you find yourself trapped in a corner.

^ Thanks - of course I should have clarified that anyone can chime in. I appreciate it.
When you say loop - do you mean the pseudo screen clearing bomb thing? I thought they took the loop out of Kai.

Nope, I mean the defensive plane loop done by hitting fire and bomb at the same time. It's still there, at least for me on MAME.

I am hyped that TSTR is playing shmups. So hyped that I almost want to play shmups myself.

I have a feeling you will give in to this urge sooner rather than later...dunpeal2064 wrote:I am hyped that TSTR is playing shmups. So hyped that I almost want to play shmups myself.
