probably a dumb question but can I go online with wii games when played on the Wii U? I still havn't figured out the who friend code thing.

yes you can.

friend codes appears (in Mario kart Wii) once you connect online and it's display under your mii avatar. usually it appears when you get online in Wii games.

Need to take a laptop into the living room next time. This was actually the first time I have used the Wii for online MP .

On a side note I am so glad the game supports nun chucks . The motion controls are pretty awkward without the wheel attachment, and steering is so much easier with a thumb stick.

P.S.

Does this Mario Kart Wii support game cube controllers? Saw the icon on the back but didn't get a chance to test it since my gc controllers are currently stored elsewhere . Might use it instead of the nunchuck/ wii mote combo and maybe upgrade to a wii classic controller later

Yes it supports gamecube controllers
It's one of the only games that supports every type of controller(Brawl and a couple others as well.)

Thanks seven. I tried to play all the other games online like sonic colors and battalion wars. Most of the games No one is online anymore. I still think battalion wars would be a great add on for this thread. I'm there for Thursday also goldeneye.
Does anyone know a listing for games that people still go online besides the games we have on? Hell even sonic racing and tatsunoko vs Capcom no one was on today.
