It is, but there is a traslated rom patch

Is the extra hassle worth it compared to the PS version which in principle should have better audio, despite load times (and may have bug fixes and slightly improved graphics - not that those would matter for this kind of game)?

Ivo.

I've only played it on the psx, which is fine, but pricey and rare...

I'd just go with psp remake to be honest.

I feel like this month has been one of the more successful TR months this year. Feels like a lot of us played and enjoyed this one.

Not a hassle at all. There are no bug fixes or anything extra in the PSX version and there's better sound effects in the SNES one. I personally liked the music a lot more too on the SNES version as well honestly. Compare that track I posted earlier to the PSX version:

SNES - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVQTQ_LeuGI
PSX - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0ytoPBJDy4
PSP (for good measure) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayymvmuAu2M

The PSX arrangement just sounds hit or miss to me, so overall I think the original SNES version beats it out. The quality of the music on the PSX version definitely isn't up to par with Sakimoto's work on FFT, Vagrant Story, etc.

Dunno if Sakimoto was involved with the PSP arrangement himself, but I really like some of the tracks I've heard.

Kodus to what noise said and yeah, I definitely want to see if I can conquer this before the month is over. Grinded a bit on that final battle in chapter 6, but I'll try to fly through the rest.

Chugging away here, I see what you guys mean about Max when he's promoted at a higher level... holy crap he's insane now.

I just got Alef and Torasu, wonder if I should promote them right away since you get them at 16? I'll probably ditch Lowe for Torasu, and maybe bring in Alef in place of Bleu since he sucks big time and I can't really get him to level up, lol.

EDIT: Oh and bazooka Lyle is hilariously awesome.

Bleu is worth it, he is the closest to Orlandu for SF1
