It's not that, it's more the aesthetic choices and color palette that date it for me. Earthbound is the video game equivalent of Saved By the Bell. That's not a knock against it, the game was developed in and satirizes a particular time period. The message it provides is much more universal and timeless, but the exterior appearance is "modern" for its time.

I've never heard of it, but you got me curious. Not worried though, it's no big deal to me if the Mother series has a bunch of fanboys in denial over the series. I just wish they'd stop being so loud and demanding about it at times when stuff pops up.

Two things in the battle engine of Earthbound I do find amusement in is if you're leveled up enough it's free XP without the time wasting battles...pop and it's over. Also deathblows can be averted killing the enemy before your HP hits 0 which is a nice unique bail out.

I've never played Undertale, so I can't judge the game itself, but I'm SO damn sick of it. It's EVERYWHERE, and it's the ONLY THING that my friends ever watch on YouTube, so whenever they're at my house, I know I'm going to have to endure hours and hours of Jacksepticeye and Undertale.

I don't understand why a person would be annoyed towards someone who is excited and enthusiastic about a title. I always found it a bit confounding when people use cynicism to deflect and deny a person of their happiness. Guess what, undertale is a lot of fun and has great writing that is heartfelt and enjoyable.

I understand some people saying it isn't their cup of tea, but I see tons of people hate the game because other people like it. How asinine is that belief? Not pointing a person out here in particular with that statement, but just something I have observed in the world.

People need to just relax and enjoy things. It is much easier and much more relaxing to like something and raise it up versus finding any reason to not enjoy it.

Undertale is a hipster fad game that will be quickly forgotten.

That Dragon, Cancer actually matters and is a step forward for this medium.

I'm sure Undertale is a great game, and I don't have anything against the game itself or people who enjoy it. I'm just sick of seeing it and hearing about it everywhere when I'm with my friends. Always watching YouTube videos about it, always listening to music from it, always pestering me to play it. It's like a broken record; the song may be amazing, but if it's all I hear, I'm going to get sick of it.

How is undertale a hipster fd? The game features a fun and engaging combat system, a simplistic but heartfelt story and gameplay that postively reinforces compassionate decisions by the player.

The resounding fanaticism over the game is a result of a younger generation of gamers that have never experienced a game like this. To them it is fresh and exciting and brings out emotions that most games ignore. There is nothing wrong with that.

The game is fun to play and has great character. There is nothing wrong with people like it.

You will enjoy it a lot I think. The game isn't very long at all and definitely encourages multiple play through as a lot of content can be missed. I say a pkaythroygh is about 10 hours max. There is zero need to grind, which is nice.
