In the months I had been searching I had only come across one other and it ended up going for $120! This one was the watch only, no band and somehow slipped through the cracks and I got it for 15 bucks. Got a band and it looks pretty nice! I know there is the even more rare "Snehmue" branded version, but I hear those have gone for 500+ (the one offered on the kickstarter needed a 5,000 pledge)

That is awesome. Even as a big Shenmue fan and a fan of watches I have to admit this never even occurred to me. Looks like I have a new watch to keep an eye out for! :)

I wonder where this is going now. I've certainly lost a lot of my original interest. If it does come out, I'm game.. but if it takes too long, no great loss.

Don't fall for the clickbait titles. Problem solved.

I don't see anything going on there other than Yu being a little too honest. It doesn't sound like there's any problems whatsoever.

Basically all I got out of that is that Shenmue 3 isn't going to push the graphical envelope, but if the budget was higher, it would. That's totally fine.

Gaming journalism and its media is as big a fucking joke as the mainstream media. These clickbait titles and sensationalist angles have got to stop. I can't even believe people fall for them. It's like everywhere has been taken over by Fox News or The Daily Mail.

And I don't even understand why Shenmue has been chosen as the target when it comes to the new "let's hate on Kickstarter campaigns" bandwagon.

Most Kickstarter campaigns take Paypal donations/pledges after the KS ends. But when Shenmue does it, it's all "Yu Suzuki is a greedy bastard and wants to steal more money from fans!!!11".

Most Kickstarters have to deal with budget restraints, yet when Yu Suzuki talks about it rather candidly, it's all "Yu still needs MORE money!! The game will suck!!!1"

Substitute IGN with any other game news outlet

My own personal concern is that Yu Suzuki pulls a Keiji Inafune on us. Old school devs seem to struggle with indie budgeting.. And what is Sony's role in all of this? Just marketing the game?

Marketing and publishing of the PS4 version, I believe.

Or if you buy into some people's hysterical, sensationalist conspiracy theories, THEY'RE FUNDING THE WHOLE THING AND GAMERS ARE BEING RIPPED OFF!!!11
