I've upped the attachment limits.
Lemme know if you still have issues.
THANKYOU!

I too ran out of room, was deleting pics to make room for new stuff. Sometimes a bear trying to sort out what to delete and what to keep such as reference pics in various guides. I would hate to have a Guide lose pics because a Photo Sharing Site might take it away years later. I understand that there has to be a limit and appreciate the upped max pictures for flexibility. I'm curious about a couple of things concerning the attachment limit.

1. What is the maximum allowed attachments?

2. Is it a total amount of attachments or total memory storage size per member?
I don't remember off-hand, but I think I doubled the max(?)

I feel like the image size restriction in our signatures is a bit much. There's all these websites that will take your PSN/XBLA accts and make a cool image for you that updates with your stats. Like this:

Which I think is pretty awesome for a sig, except I've never found any of them that are small enough to be allowed in the sigs on RB. :?

Tell me what parameters you think would be ideal...
Most of these limits were set up years ago when more people's bandwidth and screen limitations were much lower.

I'm the wrong guy to ask about parameters

But basically that pic I posted is very average of such sites. So I think as long as that pic could be allowed, then it should make it so pretty much all others could as well.

(properties says that's 470 x 155 pixels? Our current setup stops you at 70 pixels I think? Like I said, I am really no good when it comes to image editing etc.)

Just to provide a different point of view: I quite like the image size requirements as they are and would actually love to see the disallowing of pics in sigs at all. I hate sites where more than half of a page is filled with bulky signature pics of people's gamertags or other images.

and imagine how irritating it would be to see that image thousands of times on the forum and, sometimes, 3-4 times per page.

yes, well obviously I was making a joke there. And obviously that pic is much larger than what I'm asking for.

However, I don't think it's nuts to ask for a sig that allowed "gamertags" on a gaming forum. A lot of folks here have those backloggery ones, and RFGen ones because they happen to be under 70 pixels. But it would be nice to have the option to use others. Just sayin'.

EDIT: I wouldn't be opposed to a rule stating sig pics should be spoilered. But I'd think it would suck to actually strip away even the small ass pics we are allowed.

Can we come to a consensus?
