Single-player. Repetitive combat, annoying story progression (that dude constantly badgering you through the radio), scripted zombie attacks that felt totally out of place, flashlight that shines two feet in front of you, a nasty filter over the viewing area... I really did not enjoy it. The multiplayer mode was fantastic though.
We experienced a game differently... and that is ok.

ZombiU? Still one of my favourite games I've played in the last few years. I have to say, I had a different experience too.

This is why Nintendo is struggling is because people don't WANT to get what the system does. They are happy with a toe-the-line atmosphere that honestly hurts the gaming industry.
Capcom is has been pulling this same crap for years and it makes no sense to me whatsoever - if this is what people want, GIVE IT TO THEM. What is with this crap of refusing to make products that your customers are asking for and are willing to purchase. Shoving products down the throats of reluctant customers who don't necessarily want them isn't good business practice, and neither is denying paying customers the product they want.

I want both kind of games. Some more traditional and some more gamepad centric. But I do think some cool things could be done with F-zero, Metroid and Fire Emblem.

If this were the case, the D-pad, the analog thumbstick, force feedback and dual screens would never existed because we had the joystick. Why would we need anything else other than what was provided with the Atari? You get nowhere toeing the line. You don't push the industry forward. It becomes stagnant and a waste.

Because it isn't what the people want. It's just what the vocal fans want. Also willing to purchase and complaining about not getting are not the same thing.

Horsepoop. This is NOT a black/white issue, there could easily be a middle ground if a company has any interest in pleasing their customer base. Are you really suggesting that it's bad policy to cater to their customer base, that denying customers products they want makes good business sense?

It would take next to nothing to re-release an HD version of Majora's Mask for the Wii-U. Why haven't we got a new 2D Metroid console game since Super Metroid? Is there any reason for it? There's obviously demand for people with money to spend, so why not give them what they want?

EDIT: Btw, we still have the joystick...which kinda makes my entire point.

do you feel that Nintendo has not been catering to the fanbase with the games released? Mario 3D Land, Smash Bros. Mario Kart, Pikmin 3 (a game people screamed for, but sold poorly), Donkey Kong Country with the original music composer (and with underwater levels), wind Waker HD, TWO upcoming Zelda games. All of these games barely utilize the game pad, like the fan base has asked.

I would ask, do Nintendo get it? What does the pad bring to Super Mario 3D World or Mario Kart? It clearly won't do much for Smash Bros. It shows a blank screen for Tropical Freeze. When they were creating this console at the conceptual stage did Nintendo have grander ideas than it just being a screen for maps/inventories etc because we aren't seeing that in their upcoming releases.

I feel that Nintendo had to cater to the masses to bring in the audience. Nintendo Land eluded to what was possible and Nintendo constantly talked about what the Wii U could be capable of. I feel like they opened the door for third parties to attempt to do things differently and they didn't take advantage. Poor sales means Nintendo has to fall back on what will assuredly sell software and play it safe.
