I hat to be the bearer of bad news...but the series of fetch quests at the end of the game will wipe away a lot of that goodwill... :?
There had to be that one guy who comes in with his debbie downer talk lol. Well thanks for the heads up but honestly I have played other RPG's that have been worse than the Paper Mario games. I just love these games and the whole franchise. I am looking forward the Paper Mario color splash on the Wii U later this year when it releases.

I absolutely loved the game up until that point, and you will know what I am talking about when you get there. (When you do, just take a deep breath and persevere. The ending is great!)

I put three more hours into Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut on 360 last night. While walking around Detroit I was having major OG Deus Ex flashbacks... in atmospheric tone, gameplay functionality, and NPC dialogues. Total nostalgia trip that reminded me once again just how amazing OG Deus Ex was. Human Revolution has managed to capture its essence fairly well, but I'm still waiting to see what this game does to truly differentiate itself from its predecessor. (I mean, aside from the cover system, that is.) And I don't mean that in a negative way, I'm optimistic that Human Revolution might actually live up to the hypetrain I saw everyone riding a few years back.

Oh nice, you're playing the Director's Cut. The boss battles are much better in that version; you get multiple options for beating them besides "shoot first, shoot later, shoot some more" like the original release.

I actually have that game. The squeaky-clean "brogame" character designs and art style is a huge turn-off but it was like $1.99 at GameStop. I'll post about it again when I start playing it in 2035 or so.

I haven't had much time to play RPGs - or anything lately - but I've still been plugging away at PSOBB. I'm still on Episode 1, in the ruins. Due to the x3 experience rate allotted by the private server I'm already at level 50 or so. I could easily finish Episode 1 at any moment, but I want to finish all the quests first.

Playing on one of these private servers certainly has some downsides. I've been kicked off randomly. Updates have a tendency to derp up the screen size / resolution. And there's always some sort of terrible buttrock or "hilarious" YouTube/meme music playing in the lobby. Ugh.

I didn't know that was in the Director's Cut! I figured it just came with the DLC or something. Now I really wanna buy that version :I

I still think Invisible War does a few things better, but the gameplay and engine obviously blow that one out of the water. The level design is definitely a high point of HR and falls back to great 90's FPS design with a lot of branching and intricate paths throughout a level.

The Directors Cut has the DLC too if I remember right, which is INSANELY good.

My only knock on HR really is that it felt a bit more like GITS, you know I love GITS, but that's a bit odd for Deus Ex here. It has the issue of being far more futuristic than it's sequels, despite being the prequel. But oh well.

I love how gritty it is too. For the most part, the dialogue and story remains far more gray area and neutral than say, the Mass Effect series. OG Deus Ex is perhaps my post 16-bit era favorite game of all time, so I was very cautious going into HR and it destroyed me.

If you end up liking it by the end though, I would advise to play the original version sometime. The Directors Cut fixed the boss battles and improved the character models, but otherwise I think the removal of the gold tint was a very bad change and stripped away a lot of style points and atmosphere. I won't spoil it by name, but the next hub for instance that you go to after Detroit, was far more claustrophobic and awesome in the original version to me because of the lightning and style. I don't know why that couldn't have been a simple option. The gold gave it a lot of personality and set it apart from the Halo's and Mass Effect's.

The fact that all of you have the game speaks to its popularity. The Director's Cut is pretty solid so far, but I have the 360 version. And for some dumb reason the 360 version of Director's Cut won't let you install the game. :? So load times can be really annoying here and there.

I put three more hours into it last night. Had to go to the morgue in the police station to retrieve some intel from a dead body. Cops were being jerks and not wanting to let me in. So I butchered every single person in the building and got what I needed. Normally I might go stealth, but the stealth mechanics in Human Revolution aren't what I'd call well designed. No biggie, I don't mind being a mass murderer. The augs made me do it, you see.

Actually, if it won't let you install, it's probably because it's already installed a good amount of its assets to the hard drive cache, and installing would actually reduce performance. Just a guess, but I've seen it happen before. Kinda like the original Halo on XBOX, folks would run off the hard drive and it'd be slower, because it was having to hit the hard drive for two sets of data, instead of a combination of the HDD and DVD.

Also, I think Crackdown is the same way. And Halo 3 is actually slower after install as well.

I don't know about that. I've never played a 360 game that would install data to the hdd without asking first, and this game didn't. Plus the whole time I play this game the disc drive is constantly in motion, seeking and loading nonstop. It's really annoying honestly. I really wish I could install it.
