Omg that is so freaky, key is to try with all your might not to look away from the cross. Things get pretty wierd. Anyone have a scientific explanation on why this happens? I assume its your brain trying to process both images at once?

If you don't see it, there's not much to explain.

I see the faces become more and more distorted from the sides of my eyes.

As said before, the trick is to not look away from the cross.

Also try to zoom the image in, it wont work well if its just a tiny image on your smartphone. This one is best viewed on your pc monitor. Now that i think about it this illusion probably has to do with the natural blind spot in your eyes where your optic nerve is. Lol my dad is a retinal surgeon I'll have to show him this weekend I'm sure he knows.
