You sir, have above average taste.

I beat the second temple in Skyward Sword last night, the lava based one. Said second temple was better than the first temple, thankfully. I believe slowly, but steadily, the quality of this experience is rising. It may well be that Skyward Sword is a grower. You know, one of those games that kinda sucks at the start, but ends up turning into something awesome. Well I'm still on the hook for now, so we'll see.

Woah, there's some heresy going on here. I absolutely LOVED Wind Waker and its art style, and I really liked Twilight Princess, even with the slightly awkward early motion controls (for the Wii version) and the whole wolf thing. Skyward Sword is probably my third favorite in the Zelda series (after Ocarina of Time and Link to the Past), but I'll agree that Fi kind of sucked, especially in comparison to Midna.

I am with ElkinFencer10. Wind Waker is a pretty great game, and I think it is much more memorable than any of the other 3D Zelda games. (It also has a spectacular, truly affecting ending, that is packed with meaning.)

Wind Waker is a really badly designed Zelda with a yucky art style. I will admit the game has impressive cel shading technology, but that's the only positive I have to say about it.

For me A Link to the Past is the best Zelda ever. It always has been, it probably always will be. As far as 3D Zeldas go, Twilight Princess is the best I've played. But Skyward Sword may prove itself worthy yet.

I may admire you a great deal when it comes to gaming topics, especially with that blog post about backlogs, but I think I disagreed with almost everything you've said about Zelda in this thread except for this one sentence.

Fair enough, if we all agreed on everything this place would be pretty boring.

And I really don't have room to talk about being the voice of descent; I absolutely loved every minute I spent with Duke Nukem Forever. :D

Link's Awakening all the way, baby.

Closely followed by (or perhaps tied with) A Link to the Past. I'm not sure what my favorite 3D Zelda is, but I can tell you it wasn't Wind Waker. But I think I liked that better than Majora's Mask.

I actually thought Ocarina was good, not great (well, for a Zelda, most of them are "great") on N64, but playing through a while back on 3DS really improved my estimation of the game. I think it must be something with the fluidity of things this time around. Some of that technical jankiness is gone. It's definitely one of the best in the series, but I still don't think it's the best, much less of all-time.

You'd think Majora's Mask would be improved in the same way, but the problem I have there is that I just didn't like the quest structure. It felt a little too disjointed to me. The premise is fascinating, though, and it's one of the few legitimately creepy games in the series. It's borderline surreal at times. Twilight Princess was dark, and sometimes creepy (those bird things!). It also had one of the slowest starts since Dragon Warrior VII, but it really got going. Excellent stuff.

I thought Twilight Princess' start was slow until I slogged through Skyward Sword's molasses pit of an introduction. TP is practically in fast forward in comparison.

Yeah, it was a slow start, too. Although my memory is fuzzy as to how slow. I don't remember how long it took to hit the first dungeon, honestly...
