I played a bit of Sakura Wars the other night and really enjoyed it. May end up grabbing the sequels eventually. The first game was really cheap so I hope this trend continues.

Hate to say it. But I been more focused on my Saturn than on my beloved DC for the majority of this year. I'm always playing alot of my ol' games like Galactic Attack, X-MenVs.SF, MSHVs.SF as well as new current finds like Savaki, Sega Rally, Fighters Megamix and World Heroes Perfect. It's a wonderful system. Love it for the same qualities as my DC so I guess it makes sense.

I really enjoyed the 5th game on Wii, so I was sad to see there were no translations of the earlier titles available.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I played a bit of Sakura Wars the other night and really enjoyed it. The Saturn is a system I've really concentrated on for the past year. I just picked up both Guardian Heroes and Astal. Both I really like.
Guardian Heroes is way before it's time. The depth of the combat and the combination of side scrolling brawler, RPG, and fighter is something I've never experienced before. Even in our current generation of consoles. It's really an amazing achievement for that time period of games.
Astal is just a beautiful game. Everyone already knows this, but it can't be said enough. And the gameplay is solid, nothing groundbreaking, but solid. Overall, I'm really enjoying it.
My Saturn collection has grown from 1 game to 5 now and, hopefully, I can grab some more key titles as next year moves in.

yup... I need to get back into Saturn stuff. Just perusing the list of games released in the States (never mind the massive import catalog) has gotten me all nostalgic. Brilliant era of Sega for sure.

For such a horribly planned console, it sure was a great one. I need to expand my collection. I kind of tapered off with it after I got my near-mint copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga.noiseredux wrote:yup... I need to get back into Saturn stuff. Re: How is your Saturn gaming going?
Been playing a little Christmas Nights. Sadly, my game saves with nearly all presents opened is lost to me since my Saturn will no longer read memory carts and the battery in my Saturn had gone flat. Oh well, just have to start over.
I've always thought it would be a good idea to play through Panzer Dragoon Saga again but I just haven't been able to commit that much time to anything lately.

Re: How is your Saturn gaming going?
PDS is a bummer in that unlike a lot of really expensive games, PDS looks like one that I'd really really enjoy. Maybe someday, but there's plenty of far cheaper games to keep me busy.
Re: How is your Saturn gaming going?
Mod chips or emulation. Sorry to say, but that's the only way most will ever be able to experience PDS. As someone who's played most of the game (but didn't get a chance to beat it), it's worth it. The game is fantastic.

Re: How is your Saturn gaming going?
not my style. Which is to say that if I want to play PDS badly enough, I'll buy it. If I don't want to play it enough to pay the going rate, I won't.
