Wii-U thoughts so far

I think that fact that games like Mass Effect 3 and Assassins creed 3 are launch titles is of great significance. The WiiU will have better 3rd party support on day 1 than the wii had in 7 years. Good news for anyone on the fence between a Ps3, xbox, and WiiU.

That's good, but what isn't good, is those are current generation games. Wii U should be part of the next generation and they really need to convince players it's more than just a Wii with the power of a PS3/360. They have a long way to go to make the Wii U a success in my opinion. The Wii was a huge success, but that doesn't mean the bubble can't burst.

I figured this. When you factor inflation, our 50 USD just isn't what it used to be. I only buy 1 or 2 full priced games each year, so thankfully this really shouldn't affect me.

That's how much cartridge games were when they debuted, and that was 20 years ago. So it's really not that big of an inflation.

Nintendo moves up to the modern standard of game pricing after holding out for an entire generation and it's an evil move.

Nintendo's approach has been, for the last couple generations at least, to provide a gaming experience at a competitive price. Now their first-party games are going up? What gives?

Just wait 6-9 months to get the games at 1/3rd the launch price....except if it's a Mario or Zelda title, then you are screwed

Exactly, lol. It seems you'll only see games like this decrease if a direct sequel of sorts comes out (like Galaxy 2, Skyward Sword, etc making the previous games cheaper).
