I'm not sure Apolloboy has a good sized TV or monitor to use with VGA.

Are you sure you've got a VGA box with "real" S-video. (some seem to have the same stupid fake split composite s-video as bad Nintendo-type AV cables do)

If you're not sure, I could bring my S-video cable just in case.

Drop Apollo a PM. If he doesn't notice this topic, he'll at least get an e-mail notification of a PM.
What a maneuver!

Yeah, the family room doesn't get used much, so my parents would have no problem with us being in there.
kool kitty89 wrote:Plus there's a rear projection SDTV in the family room right? (or is it HD?) Does that have S-video or component? (I could bring a Nintendo S-video cable and a GC component cable if anyone's interested -or a Wii component cable for that matter, and component for Xbox, PS2/PS3, 360, plus Dreamcast S-video)
The rear projection TV is in the living room, but it's not that great since it gets a lot of glare and it has issues with certain systems. The big CRT in the family room would work great, since it has both S-video and component.
kool kitty89 wrote:Do you think it would be a good idea to bring over the 400 and asteroids for some 4 player action?
Sure, and it would be great if you brought an extra set of paddles so we can play Warlords on the 2600 later.

My TV doesn't have VGA and neither does the TV in the family room. Plus, we don't have any computer monitors laying around, so we'll have to use S-video for the DC.

Apollo got his Super Everdrive. He can load many SNES ROMs on that baby.
Indeed. I've already got a load of games ready to go on the Super Everdrive, and the best part is we can play them in RGB! I modded my SNES mini for RGB and as I stated before, I have a SCART to component converter so SNES stuff will look fantastic. If anyone has an SNES multitap, that'd be great since I have all five Super Bomberman games loaded on the Super Everdrive.

You can bring some stuff if you'd like, I've got the burgers covered but you guys can feel free to bring snacks and drinks! As for games, you can bring over some multiplayer 360 or Wii games since both those systems are set up in the family room. I've got the old stuff pretty much covered (except for PC Engine and SNES multitaps), so you don't have to worry about that.

EDIT: Oh, and bring stuff for sale/trade if you have anything!

OK, let me know if I should bring any Wii/PS2/360/GC/Xbox component cables or if you need an extra SNES type S-video cable.
I've got a good DC S-video cable that might be easier to use than Jesse's VGA/S-video box. (plus, if Jesse hasn't made sure, some VGA boxes have composite wired to S-video)
If you're planning on hooking up your modded Genesis 2, the VGA box might be easier though since you could just use a generic S-video cable for either and manually switch between. (I could also bring my composite+s-video switchbox if that would make things easier -the s-video is a bit flaky, but should be OK and the composite and audio is perfectly fine)

That and any games/controllers/etc.

And castle crashers.

If there's any special (chipped) SNES games that people want to bring (and you don't already have), that would still be important since those aren't everdrive friendly.
