I have found myself in that predicament as well, I would test the waters, if it seems way too difficult, then I would pass

Guardian Heroes (again). I actually got an ending I had never seen this time.

*possible spoilers* I sided with the earth spirits after they killed Kanon. When I defeated Xenobia in a test of strength she asked me what I wanted to do next. I chose to go after the remnants of Kanon's army. I fought my way through a red bricked corridor I had never seen before. I ended up in a variation of the throne room where Golden Silver gave a speech about carrying out Kanon's orders even after his death. He went on to say that the artificial soldiers would rule the humans. When I defeated him the Guardian Heroes talked with the fake princess about rebuilding the kingdom under a democratic order instead of a monarchy. The princess explained that Vulgar had gone off to fight another evil and asked the Guardian Heroes not to follow him. The ending scene was of Vulgar on a cliff looking out over the land. *end spoilers*

Just finished God of War 2.

Overall, I enjoyed it. I seem to be in the minority, but I kind of think that the first God of War was better. I think this time they've really let the quick-time events get out of hand. I practiced several times, and got where I could take care of Zeus no problem, but then I died at least ten times on the very last quick-time event. That's just a bunch of crap.

4 done since last post.

EDIT: Removed list to conserve space, updated list available on newest post

Well, after posting about the Mega Man series and getting some encouragement about the first one, I went back to it and played my little heart out. I was surprised, however, to learn that you do get continues in it. For some reason I remember the Game Over screen without the option of continues. Weird. It was a lot of fun though!

Metal Storm is awesome. If you've never heard of it, or never played it, you really should. It's a product of a great mechanic meets creativity (MORE creativity). I did find, though, that the gravity switch would happen when I didn't want it to, which I admit comes from my habit to hold Up on the D-Pad when I jump, but it still killed me more than a couple times. Definitely worth your time to track down if you are an NES collector!

Joe & Mac... there's not too much to say about it. It's a pretty fun concept and it's a good game.

Ristar, now here is a game that I hear a lot about, at it was even featured in RacketBoy's Hidden Gems for the Genesis (http://www.racketboy.com/retro/2007/01/ ... -sega.html). In fact, that's why I bought it when I saw it at my local retro shop. The game itself is colorful, very creative and challenging enough to make you want to try again to do better. Even after I saw the credits roll I wanted to go back to find more of the treasures. This is a great game is you're into the Genesis.

DoDonPachi Daifukkatsu on iPhone. Really fun~ :D

I wanna get it on 360 now (and a 360 too)... Can't believe it's $100 for the one with a soundtrack and $80 w/o. I missed Amazon's 20% off pre-sale.
