Is there somewhere I can download inserts for actual saturn cases? I've got Nights and the fullsize manual but no back/side insert. I'm sure I can find some cheap sports game for a case. Also, does anybody else have Astal? Why isn't there anything written on the side, it's weird. . . .

What really ticks me off is that all the original covers have altered spines. I mean what's up with all the Dreamcast games having japanese spine designs, changed spine logos, and white borders on the black border games like JGR?

Ive done this to most of my Saturn games,I think they look a lot better than the original cases. The color ink runs out too fast,I should just take it to Office Max when I get the chance.

Usually it's for consistency reasons. Just like how we can all agree that Greatest Hits releases always look like ass with the rest of the collection, having a mixture of black and white spines wouldn't look too good. I'm guessing they decided that the white spine (with our without orange topper) was the best look for Dreamcast, probably because (and this is supposition) most Dreamcast games were in white cases.

True, but I'm insane about accuracy to the point that white border DC games get white DVD cases, and black border DC games get black cases, or if staples/office depot were to do dual sided prints I'd use clear cases as to preserve the inside cover art that was under the disc in the original cases.

I guess this stuff looks pretty cool being all consistent but I prefer original cases. Not to mention it looks like a lot of work lol. Actually Id rather have all my games that came in DVD cases put into jewel cases so I could have more rows on shelving. I wish DVD cases were shorter...kinda like DS cases but thinner I guess.

That's exactly what I've been trying to get at. If they're gonna make replica cases I want unchanged replicas not 'enhanced' copies. Plus I prefer the original cases as they help give each system it's own identity on the shelf.

I view there are two ways to approach the cover project:
1. Special Covers
2. Reproductions of original
I understand why yall want the original art, but some of those Saturn covers are just gorgeous. I use to be a purist but recently some great disc only deals have come my way – Cube games for $1 (Star Fox Assault and Bloody Roar), so my collection is in shambles aesthetically and I am hoping to remedy that with the site.

I will be doing this for a bunch of perfect burns, hopefully, in the near future. I have had enough of my games walk away and if it is not a new console, I am mostly using backups (well thanks to Niode's insight the Wii will be backups aswell). At the last party I attended my bag of games was under a table, a fair distance from the edge, yet somehow a beer fell in it and ruined several cases. I will be using the templates from the Coverproject to create my own covers, and a few of the good ones. If the nearby printshop will print them in color for cheap I will do them in full, if not I will do a fancy spine, logo on front center, and pertinent info on the back - ie genre, player count, special instructions, etc - to save on ink

If I can get the cases for cheap, I will be doing a different colour for each console I am working on.
Wii/Cube – White
Saturn – Black (mostly because I already have about 100 cases and I have the most games for it)
PSX – Red
Sega CD –Blue
Xbox – Bright Green

The kicker will be where I am going to store them. I haven’t figured that out yet… Anybody built a shelf out of PVC before?

my order of 25 white DVD cases arrived from Amazon earlier today which meant getting to use the first three custom covers I had printed off:

All the covers are from The Cover Project. I think they look the shizz. The Dreamcast logo is slightly different on the JGR box, which I should have noticed beforehand, and bugs me a bit, but they'll mostly be being displayed by the spine, so it's no big deal.

I'll post more pics as I print off more covers into their cases.
