Re: Questions about Xbox One
I've played through it it's okay not great pretty much if you liked Halo Anniversary edition it's more of the same. I really wish they hadn't purposely shit all over the MP though the match making system they implemented for the Master Chief collection was such a joke that it still pisses me off. It's pretty obvious that they butchered it with the sole intention of ensuring the fan base moved onto 5Xeogred wrote:
Play Halo 2 remastered for me.

That seems believable and I remember hearing about constant stability issues. The thought of playing some Halo 1 online again was awesome, but too good to be true haha.
Halo's dead to me. I hate what 343 has done to the series.

I think I bought it a month after release and the lobbies for just about everything were already dead. The few matches I did play were freaking annoying because the matchmaking always seemed to pick the same maps every time voting started up and after each map you got dumped to lobby only to join a fresh party where everyone wanted to play the exact same map you were just on
.

Re: Questions about Xbox One
so far the console seems really cool - but I'm having major issues with streaming to PC. I have the PC and console wired directly to my router. To note: I never have issues with online gaming via PC. But when streaming, everything is super artifact'd and I keep getting a pop-up error box that says "network connection problem."
My only thought is that I think all my ethernet cables are Cat 5e rather than Cat 6. Would this be what's killing the streaming? I really figured I'd have no issues with a wired connection on both ends.
For the record, this is my router: https://www.asus.com/Networking/RTN56U/
On the plus, I got a handful of free games. The system came bundled with Minecraft, plus another key for the Windows 10 version if anyone needs it (I already have that), plus a 2 week Gold trial which meant I got Killer Instinct season 2 free plus some other Van Helsing game and then whatever games are free after 1/31.

That's a bummer about the artifacting. If you're concerned about the wiring you can go into the network settings on each and make sure they're both connected at a gíg. Also, maybe there is a firewall setting on the Win 10 machine that needs to be opened up a bit?

Checked firewall and didnt see anything obvious.
Not sure what you mean about a gig on each... talk slowly, network stuff is really my weak spot.

Ethernet has different speed standards, 10/100/1000 megabit and so on. 1000 megabit is 1 gigabit, and is the typical top speed for consumer gear. So, basically, make sure each side is detecting/using the connection at full speed.noiseredux wrote: Not sure what you mean about a gig on each... talk slowly, network stuff is really my weak spot.
Cat 5e is fine for gigabit, assuming there aren't any problems with the cable. Cat 6 is better constructed, but shouldn't be necessary at that rating.
It's remotely possible that a bad cable (or port) could be dropping speed down since 10/100 only technically requires four of the eight wires in the cable.

Ok, so how can I conform this?isiolia wrote: Ethernet has different speed standards, 10/100/1000 megabit and so on. 1000 megabit is 1 gigabit, and is the typical top speed for consumer gear. So, basically, make sure each side is detecting/using the connection at full speed.
(I'm really bad at understanding network stuff.)
