Well I don't have a a games list, so much as features or mechanics that have aged poorly to me. Some of these issues are deal-breakers to replaying some games. Many will be echoed from those posted previously.

- Games with password 'saves'
- When saving is very limited. Some with common save points aren't too bad (Final Fantasy series) but the Resident Evil save system is annoying.
- extended loading times when going to menus, screen changes, etc... 32 bit are the worst for this. I lack the patience now.
- Most older sports games
- Excessive RPG grinding (not always a deal breaker)
- Unskippable repetitive cuts cents (FFVIII summons)
- Most older FPS, I think viewing distance and wide-screen has really helped the genre

I think the majority of PS2 titles haven't aged well. That being said I'm referring to the massive amount of smaller/generic games that this day and age would be digital only but somehow managed to swing a publisher. I would say 80-90% of the PS2s 2k+ releases look/play like utter garbage now compared to both recent offerings and the generations that came before it.

The Wii is kind of similar in the massive amount of shovel ware available to it but it at least it has the motion control gimmick to make some of them at least somewhat appealing.

Here's a funny one. You guys should look up the newest WWE games sometime. I'm utterly flabbergasted by how damn bad they look. You thought CoD was lazy... wait until see these games.

Comix Zone

The aesthetic and concept is great and the game is high on charm and cool factor...but it isn't actually fun to play with its un-intuitive combat, obnoxius enemy AI, and overall cheap design

It's beatable sure, I did it back when I played it on the Genesis years ago. And it has a place in my heart for how unique and original it still feels even today, but as I'm playing through the PS 3 version right now I'm remembering just how annoying this game is.

Although save states on the PS3 version does make it more accessible than the Genesis version, but I still can't imagine modern gamers having the patience for this game

I wish someone would make a sequel and make it more accessible. I wouldn't mind seeing Sketch Turner and this world revisited again in a less obnoxious game, and I'd drop 15 bucks for a good sequel on PSN or XBLA

Faceball 2000 - SNES
Zero Tolerance - Genesis. Zero Tolerance allowed two genesis's to be connected through a special cable for multiplayer:
Don't forget Faceball on the PC Engine CD.

I'm one who got into Zero Tolerance too last year shortly after getting a Genesis again. I had seen stuff about it before but was surprised to see someone put a FPS on there so I grabbed it. It has a few rough edges by todays 'Doom wannabe' standards but it's actually pretty fast and solid. The engine has limits to distance that DOOM on SNES (FX2) doesn't but it compensates for a cool live radar that's always on screen to make up for it. I don't think I ever got around to finishing it but it played pretty well. Far better than that failed, yet recently re-released by Piko outside Brazil, copy of Duke Nukem 3D for Genesis.

Yuke's gives approximately zero fucks in making the WWE games look good. They know they have basically a monopoly on wrestling games at the moment, so they just churn out turd after turd after turd. Not to mention they aren't even remotely fun to play. Give me N64 wrestling games anyday.

Yeah, 1991, same as Hovertank 3D. I don't really think of FPS as getting going until around the early 1990s anyway. The stuff before that is mostly vehicle simulators, RPG dungeon crawlers, or maze games from a first person perspective, some of which struggle with real time. There are some cool ideas, but what we think of as "FPS" I don't think really exists at the time.

I fall into the FPS didn't really exist until iD Software said so with the beauty of Hitler melting away on DeathCam(TM) in Wolfenstein3D. The stuff before hand was just almost turn based or so crude it basically just didn't qualify. Wolfy laid the bones, Doom blew it out, and we have had imitation and expansion ever since. Those two old iD games are just as playable now as they were 25 years ago which is why they're still for sale today and popular downloads.

First Person Shooter.

Yeah, I think those requirements make sense.
