I just finished up Call of Duty. It was a hell of a game.
I think I enjoyed the Russian levels the most, as they were very intense (and allowed me to drive a tank for two levels and blow the living hell out of other tanks), but all of it was good. Lots of variety. The various infiltration missions in the British levels were particularly fun, my favorite being the Dam.
Ai wasn't perfect. Many times I got killed because my buddies parked their asses all around me so I couldn't move out of the way of gunfire. Other times they would charge forward like maniacs and clear sections of the level for me. Not too horrible or anything, but noticeable.
I'm glad I gave the game a chance, it was well worth it. But as much as I enjoyed it I kind of doubt I'll move on with the series. If I do, it'll probably only be Call of Duty 2.
Moving on, Medal of Honor hasn't arrived yet, but I did purchase and install Allied Assault. I'm not sure I feel like jumping right in, but then I just might.

Allied Assault's design and gameplay feels unique enough that I doubt you'll have a bout of deja vu after just finishing CoD. Allied Assault is excellent, but I have not played its expansions so no verdict there.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Play MOHAA ASAP. It's a large game. Expansions are just as good too.
They put you through the fire on the very first Russian mission on WaW though. If you love to snipe, it's the mission for you!

Well that's good to hear. I am definitely looking forward to playing it. I just have to balance my play time to make sure I finish diablo 2 for summer challenge. I can't allow myself to lose steam on that one.

Man do I love sniping! COD gives you a handful of missions to scratch that particular itch and I was thriving on it.

Don't get me wrong I enjoy it too, but it's basically you with a guy with an injured hand telling you where to shoot for an entire mission, so it's TONS of sniping. On the first mission of this game I did a bit of exploring and I found a scoped Arisaka rifle; that was a smart thing to do.

Progresses:
CoD WaW: Back to the 2nd set of Russian missions. Had fun with the new flamethrower weapon taking out the Japanese in trenches.
MoH Infiltrator: One feature of this game is letting you enter buildings and select different weapon loadouts that balance out each other (a pistol and a bazooka, Thompson and grenades, M1 Garand and explosive charges). I made a big mistake of using the pistol and bazooka, not good for infantry, plus the pistol had a short range and far less ammo. But I did get past the 2nd set of missions there. Onto mission 3.

Re: Together Retro: Call Of Duty & Medal Of Honor
haven't mentioned, but I have been playing COD. I'm at the river dam mission right now and I feel like it jumped in difficulty a bit. Probably because you're playing this section solo instead of in a squad. I enjoyed the last mission a lot where you had to protect the bridge and you have to take out a bunch of incoming tanks. Took me a few tries but I liked it a lot.
Re: Together Retro: Call Of Duty & Medal Of Honor
I started up MOH: Allied Assault tonight, and completed the first mission (of six).
I'm liking it a lot so far, and it definitely feels quite different from Call of Duty. In a good way, that's not a criticism for either game. It's just that COD was explosive and full of spectacle from the get go, and AA feels a bit more subtle and slower paced. So far at least, that may change.
The inability to lean however is definitely bugging me. I normally wouldn't care though, so it's probably because I just came off of COD where I used it a lot. Apparently this is added in the first expansion pack though.
Speaking of which, the expansions are part of the war chest release, so I might play those when I'm done with the main game.

The expansions are quite solid and vary up the locales, so I'd recommend them.

Cleared mission 3 on MoH Infiltrator. That took me a few re-attempts. Mission 4 is the last set of levels then it will be completed.
I'm getting near the end of CoD WaW too. At least the Russian side of things. URRRRA!
