I definitely agree with you on those points, Alien Jesus. The puzzles are great, but the cinematic platforming lacks the finessed control of a Super Mario game.

I don't have a guide, so I have no idea how many poor Mudokons I have neglected.

this is why I lost interest really quickly.

I'd be curious to hear if the sequel or the remake fix this issue, because other than this I'm rather enjoying the game. Repetition is not the friend of puzzle gameplay though.

The latest episode of the Game Informer podcast has the Oddworld creator on it. It got kind of political but I liked the discussions they had, this guy definitely seems pretty out there and fittingly so. Apparently the Exodus remake is going to be more than a face lift like New N Tasty was, because Exodus was a rushed project and not fully what they envisioned. So it sounds like they're getting a redo.

I'm still at it. I cleared up Scrabania today, and I'm now in the Scrabanian temple. Had a spate of deaths and repetitions though and got too ticked off to continue.

I have a few more levels to go, I'm hoping to have it polished off this weekend.

So... I just found the legit Oddworld disc for PC at a local Goodwill. It was hidden among the audio CDs. No more burned CD for me!

Was going to post that the HD pretty much 1:1 remake of the original was available in physical form over at limited run but it looks like both the PS4/Vita versions have sold out now. The second run is coming at 6pm EST for those that are interested though.
