Returns was great IMO. I didn't mind the waggle at all, but I generally don't mind waggle. Tropical Freeze is great, but it's a LOT harder than Returns (which was SUPER easy). Not ridiculously hard or anything - it's a good challenge, I think - but it definitely feels really hard when you compare it with Returns.

As for Rayman Legends, I enjoyed it, but Ubisoft is definitely not as good as Nintendo when it comes to platformers.

I am with you. I have never had an issue with waggle if done right. Of course, this is coming from the guy who barely rolled in the original donkey Kong country. And yeah, the difficulty between the two in the returns sees are a night and day difference. I still stand by the co-op in tropical freeze is frustratingly hard though.

Also, ubisoft is always about style. Rayman legends is a beautiful game that mixes great co-op into a platforming experience and those musical stages are just magical. Absolutely love it.

Yeah I think that the absolute charm of the Rayman Origins/Legends games is second-to-none. Which is surprising considering that Nintendo is almost always the frontrunner on that category. Love the new DK games though.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved Rayman Legends (I have Origins, but it was a recent acquisition, so I haven't gotten around to playing it yet), and it definitely wins in the style category. It didn't feel as technically solid with level design and controls as NSMBU or DKCTF, though, but that's just my opinion.

Yeah I won't disagree with you on the level design at all. That is a very valid point!

I completely disagree with you on the level design and controls aspect, but once again it's just my opinion  .

In the end I guess they are just different games. They're both platformers, but it's like comparing Sonic to Mario (the good Mario, like SMB3). they're both amazing, it's just that we each have our own preferences and that defines what we like more :)

I personally hate the sense of momentum in the DKCR games. I much preferred the way the originals handled. There may be a lot to like in Tropical Freeze, but the controls still get in my way a bit.

It's definitely got a distinct feel from the originals. I, personally, prefer it, but I can see how one might not.
