Ever beat a game w/o using a major gameplay mechanic?
Re: Ever beat a game w/o using a major gameplay mechanic?
Another one I remembered was playing through Shadows of the Empire on my new N64. You could press Z (or something like that) to manually aim your blaster vertically. I either beat it or came close without using the aim. When I figured it out, it took me only a couple of minutes to beat the chicken walker boss rather than a half hour.

Dude when I was a kid, I would always kick my much older brother's ass in fighting games that I instituted the, "I will use no specials," rule to make the fight even for them.....still won. My throat still hurts from the strangulation by controller cords.TSTR wrote:Do Street Fighter arcade mode runs using only normals count? Then yes.

I got 30 hours into FF13 without upgrading equipment before I realized this game is a piece of trash and decided to just stop playing it

Yeah, I do that whenever I can convince my friends to play old school SF2 with me. Still win.BogusMeatFactory wrote:Dude when I was a kid, I would always kick my much older brother's ass in fighting games that I instituted the, "I will use no specials," rule to make the fight even for them.....still won. Yeah with friends I always say, "I won't go easy on you," and I do go easy on them...and still win and I feel horrible, cause I want to play with people!TSTR wrote:Yeah, I do that whenever I can convince my friends to play old school SF2 with me. I already do. Although I have not spent as much time as I would like on it. Going to upgrade when ultra comes out though fo sho! I will play though no doubt. You may completely destroy me, but challenge me to some Samurai Shodown or Virtua Fighter 5: Final Shodown on PS3 and then it is on! muahahahahahahahaha!noiseredux wrote:Bogus, get SF4 on Steam...

Definitely....also I am free on Wednesday and Thursday night for some time to play AE if you want to. Who do you play? I stick to Ryu for the moment, but haven't had the time I would like to experiment with people. I like me Some Makoto, but she is far too technical for my tastes. I might go with Rose (who I enjoyed in Alpha) or Ibuki.noiseredux wrote:nice, nice, I'm planning to get Ultra too. And yes TSTR we DO need to play some Virtua Fighter 5 my friend! I have to show people how amazing the game really is! It drives me mad when people disregard the franchise. It boggles my freaking mind! Is it because it lacks explosions?
