51% of their 56.23 million shares outstanding is 28.68 million shares needed to purchase. At 1746 yen a share we need (full number) 50070565800 yen. How much is the conversion with local currency?

(This is all an estimate with simple math. I don't remember stock pricing and other financial concepts at this time.)

I think some of you are misunderstanding how this works. We don't need 575 million. We need to procure about half of that, but not liquid, in holdings, cash, assets and loans.

I think it goes without saying - those of us serious about it would be doing this as full time deals. Life is short and this is an amazing opportunity.

My wife is all-in. I can get 50K out of my collection (70K with patience) and my home is paid off, so that is collateral i'd put up to secure a loan.

Dave, no offense, but I think we are looking at 250K/per for investors. Beyond that there are too many hands in the cookie jar and we're going to be arguing about what to develop and it will be the ruin of us all. 250K means you are serious and it limits the number of hands.

PM Dave or I if you are serious only, please. No tirekickers, no pessimists, no reasons why it can't happen - it isn't helpful and franky it's something our community should be getting behind, whether as casual observer, cheerleader, or investor.

I agree 250K is a better limit. Follow up with me on PM about the neo folks. I also know a few devs from the podcast interviews that might go in for this and would be able to bring some of those ideas to fruition and profitibility with their programming capabilities.

707, MML3 was one of the first things a *certain* interested investor mentioned to me when they sent me a note. It'll be a top priority.

And yeah, those of you being dubious I think have a misunderstanding how a deal like this would work. We don't need $500M+ to interest a bank or Capcom.

Totally serious: do we have any members who live nearby their USA HQ and who could represent the buyers in a professional manner to make some inquiries? This would still be 2-3 months away.

I am not in for the buy, but if you really need a professional face, I can be of service and can fly to San Mateo. I have brokered deals in the past of similar dollar amounts.

You guys are too whacky.

I bet we'll see a big Japanese game company come in for another big merger. Konami/Capcom?

I'm really hoping Namco Bandai sees this as a golden opportunity since they have been rivals and have handled tons of similar IPs, but doubt they have the resources available to pull this off and make it work.

Just praying EA keeps their claws out of it, aside from the 1st party system makers. Only thing worse could be Zynga rising from the dead and purchasing it while laying off 8 more studios they bought out. :P
