Re: Mario Kart 8 Thread
So playing it and have some small gripes and one huge gripe.
Why can't I see what each item does to change the stats of my character in game? I used to love seeing what the different wheels did and the like?
I am loving the tracks themselves...they are awesome and so much fun to play! You can tell the focus is really on them and the variety, the music and the cool little replay features make an awesome experience.
Since the race tracks are the focus, the battle mode has been completely destroyed. It is not fun at all. Racing around a track and waiting to see someone to just ram with a turtle shell. Maybe it will be better with more real players, but one of my favorite features is just plain gone.
Do not get me wrong, I am loving it overall. I feel that the focus is on the racing and who am I to argue, as it is Mario Kart after all and that is one of the big draws, but I would have wished for some arenas style battle maps instead of rehashing race courses.

Press + when selecting your parts. It shows you all of the stats.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Thread
Ok so we can set up a Racketboy tournament that can be held weekly, monthly etc. as well as make it private. This is something we should definitely set up and have going for people who have the game.
Also, I'm having too much fun with the replay feature.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Thread
Picked up my preorder at Target on my lunch! So not only did I get the sweet key chain for preordering it, I got a 5 dollar gift card, and a racing wheel attachment for the Wii remote! So excited to get home and play this bad boy.

Can you use the Pro Controller in one player mode on this?

I got the last copy at Target - they were long out of the wheels (not everyone with a preorder even got one - not that it was advertised as being a bundle) but they're the same as the ones for the Wii right? I mean it's the same Wiimote.

Yes. You can use the gamepad, pro controller, classic controller, wiimote + nunchuk or wiimote (wheel) in any configuration you like.
