Well I actually tweaked a few things and it seemed like a few things came up, would be nice if it would go through some of the older listings as well. That would definitely make it worth my while to look at even if I can't buy any more games until the new month...

It's important to remember that as high as these prices get video game collecting in general is a relatively inexpensive hobby. It's quite easy to build an incredibly impressive collection while spending very little money. The number of $100+ English-language video games that are

1) exclusive to one console and
2) are actually worth playing as opposed to just "collector's items" (Cheetahmen II, 6-in-1, etc.)

is incredibly small. Even the number of decent retro games over $60 (which is what you'd pay for a new 8th-gen console title) is quite tiny.

Right, even games like Hagane are something like $200 cheaper on Super Famicom than SNES. No language barrier with that game either.

I noticed that looking on eBay the prices have gone back to what they were when they came out or after a year or so when they were out. A lot of mediocre or normal games havent changed too much but you just need to stay away from the rare games. If anyone gets their taxes back and can spend 150.00 or so and wants to get a snes collection going you can do good on bundles and they usually have 4 or so must haves for the system.

Yeah, i'm definitely going to give some of those a look next month. But I'm also going to give a flea market near me a go. But I'm also giving that sniper tool on price chart a go. With a few tweaks it's decent. But yeah for those rarer games it's best even for me to wait a month or two because I'm a little restricted for getting some of the better deals on those until tuition is done and when tuition is done I plan on kicking it up and looking through those deals. I've seen other deals like those, but most of them only have like 1 or 2 out of the whole lot some of them are trying to sell off. Others I should've gave a go and sold the rest...

You know what honestly, there's several tools under price chart besides the main one are amazing....(even if I haven't tried them). I'm going to try them next month....that site keeps getting useful the more I look at it...

I was collecting SNES games 10 years ago and it was a great time for it. Actually I started even earlier than that, around 1999 or so after I graduated high school I wanted to go back and buy all the games I never had as a kid. Back then the best way to go was pawn shops. They would typically price all their SNES games at $5, 7, or $10 depending on the store. The key was to find a store that priced all games the same. Madden 95 for $5? uh no. Donkey Kong Country 3 for $5? Um sure!

However as time went on, pawn stores gave way to payday loan stores and the few that remained began pricing games individually depending on ebay completed auctions. Also SNES games could be found at garage sales from parents whose kids left the house and left behind their games. Today I go to garage sales and its mostly PS2 or Xbox 360 games I see.

Finally, rental stores like Blockbuster Video were a great place to pick up last gen games. I personally scored a boxed copy of Bonk's Adventure for NES for $4.88, copies of Final Fight Guy, ect. Well no more video stores around me.

The early/mid 2000's were a great time to be a collector. Some of you guys really missed the heyday.

Out of all the systems I owned I would go back to the snes. It just sucks because when your on a broke ass budget and your married with kids its very hard to tell your wife you spent 100.00 on 5
.snes games and not have a fight. This is why i choose the wii. A lot of classic games reincarnated on the wii, vc console, and great games plus its a hell of alot cheaper lol.
