It must take a lot of bandwidth to host a game and broadcast an HD stream with no slowdown either way.

On PS3, I can play:
Soulcalibur V
Soulcalibur II HD
Tekken Tag Tournament 2
BlazBlue: Continuum Shift
Street Fighter IV (normal)

If any of those come up I'd be glad to play. No telling when I get off work though, so I may not be available.

I certainly don't. It's the only copy of tekken ever made that I don't own... I also can't imagine playing on those godawful wii u pads or buying a stick just to play Tekken on wii u with.

...Tekken Ball making a return almost got me there, though!

As far as stream connection and playing at the same time- Yea, I have a venue I stream from that has one of the highest business class Fios connections you can get.

It's not that simple. Otherwise every game for every tourney gathering everywhere would be running on PS3 setups and that ain't the case.

Anywho, while recently bringing up the topic of including the MVC series as part of the lineup up for the potential fight gatherings that are on the way... both MVC Origins and MVC 2 are on sale on PSN for 50% off (70% off to plus memebers!). Also keep in mind Origins packs in 2 fighting games, MSH and MVC1. Sale ends basically on the set dates that Fight Night is set to go down so... ;)

LOL, but I guess you missed the part where we are trying to keep it simple? Yes I am aware of frame rate differences both imagined and real, the fact that capcom games run infinitesimally better on 360 and that Evo will likely go all XB this year. A lot of it is just whiners whining to feel better about a bad performance and PS3 has been used in the vast majority of tournaments, Evo included, up to this point.

But I am not sure how that really matters for this? Like we said, keeping it simple. Even if there was a point to be made on the tournament standard, the fact that PSN is free is pretty paramount to all other factors presented. :)

Oh I did read it all... and I'm not even saying that this gathering shouldn't be held on the platform for the sake of convenience because it actually is and I get that. But you said it yourself...
cha cha wrote:But I am not sure how that really matters for this?

I assume by your description and intention to host this gathering, that its about a small group playing and enjoying a few fighting games together. So yeah, Who gives a f@ck whether the console of choice is the "tournament standard" for this gathering. I was simply stating THAT PART of your reasonong for PS3 isn't so clear cut. The fact that nearly every major leading up to EVO last year held respective titles that perform better on 360 and the promising indication that this years EVO may host those said games on 360 as well maybe... just maybe has to do with more than just whiners whining :D

It's honestly more about controller sync issues and sponsorship than it is about stark gameplay difference between games on both systems. I mean I am a judge at Evo every year, I'm not just making it up :P

But yea I just didn't want this to become a system superiority argument thread is all :P

Back on topic:

Everyone still interested how does this sound?

Tuesday (Dec 17th) at 8:30pm

Game Line up:
SSF4AE 8:30-10
TTT2 10-11
UMVC3 11-12

If that is agreeable with everyone, I will post up PSN account name, Twitch tv channel and lobby names for each game.
