For a laugh, I looked up Eco Fighters on Twin Galaxies and their 'World Record' is 337,600. Looks like there are a lot of records being broken here!

Twin Galaxies is hilarious.

Gun & Frontier:

"World Record" - 158,540
My best - 1,054,290

Mushihime-sama Futari: No scores
Dodonpachi (Arcade): No scores
Espgaluda: No scores

"The official keepers of video game records" my ass.

Edit: Jesus Doc! Fantastic score. Push it a bit further and you will sit atop the shmups forum high score thread (all 2 scores submitted  )

I feel like that's kind of harsh. I mean, at a time it really was the closest there was to anything official. And in its time, it was the first to do such a thing on such a wide scale. Just because they can't keep up with a niche crowd of shmuppers who either watch scores in Japan, or keep their scores to themselves at System11 isn't really a reason to pour a glass of haterade, bro. They can only log scores that players actually submit to them.

I'm with dunpeal, Twin Galaxies is a joke. You know that you have to pay them if you want to submit a score now?

http://www.bit-tech.net/news/gaming/201 ... galaxies/1
The fees take the form of a tiered structure: a video submission which takes under two hours to watch in real-time will be validated for $25; a six-hour submission will cost $60; and a twelve-hour submission will cost $75. Those with more than one submission can combine them: while the $25 tier is only valid for a single score, videos submitted under the $60 tier can include up to three submissions, rising to five on the $75 tier.
This thread probably isn't the best place for this discussion, though...

Also, your initials are quite similiar to mine!
I used it on my latest run too. Feels like suicide but it scores so much better!

That.... seems to be a recurring theme these days

I know, I'm not supposed to ask, but how do you score more with the sword? Boss times, or shoot down rate?

I was mostly giving you a hard time cuz we've had this discussion in the past already. But I do think that TG should at least get credit for doing what it did AT THE TIME. Like I said, there was no internets, and they were trying to do a large scale record-keeping of video games across arcades nationwide. Regardless of how well they've managed to keep that up in this day and age, they deserve props for getting the ball rolling.
