Now LoL as a game is inferioir compared to HON or DOTA, but why would you be upset about Link loosing? He's the most boring character in the universe. Fanboyism is a cancer for the video game community. Just because a character is featured in many good games (in this context the Zelda series) does not mean that the actual character is any way interesting or well designed. A character from a mediocre or a bad game can be infinitely better as a character than the main protagonist of a really good game.
Not that it has anything to do with this, as actually well designed and interesting characters never win these polls because the little kids who make up the majority of voters never actually play games like Longest Journey and stick with voting Master Chief/Link/Mario/Commander Shepard/Altair and other bland characters from mainstream games.
