We could also draw and announce each game a week ahead of time. That way the people who don't want to emulate it have a week to pick it up.

Radirgy is also on the Ulimate Shooting Collection for the Wii (along with Chaos Field and Karous). Gamestop sells it used for $1.99. Regardless if it pops up for this tournament, it's totally worth picking up.EllertMichael wrote:2006-2010: Rajirugi [Radirgy] - Milestone/Able (ARCADE, DC, PS2, NGC)
Technically the Radirgy arcade release was late '05, but the console ports were '06 and I figure for a "later" title (see also: difficult to emulate), it's on a good variety of consoles and should be a fairly easy game for people to get a hold of.

I don't know if black label was released on PS2, but my PS2 release has arcade mode and 'death label.' I'd be good with normaj DOJ arcade mode... otherwise I'm probably out on that one.EllertMichael wrote:2001-2005: DoDonPachi Dai-Ou-Jou Black Label - Cave/AMI (ARCADE, PS2, X360)
If we do decide to have everyone nominate games, let me know and I'll put in my picks too.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.
Consoles: I have too much stuff
Arcade: No seriously, I have too much stuff. Someone grab a shovel and dig me out of my basement.

there isn't an option for "old version" and "new version" in the PS2 port?

Unfortunately, no. Just "arcade mode" which im 99.999% sure is the white label ("old version"). The 360 port is Japan only isn't it? Shmups guide doesn't list it as region free and I don't have a J 360EllertMichael wrote:there isn't an option for "old version" and "new version" in the PS2 port?

Yeah, it's JP only, and region locked.

Hmm, not sure if I can get behind games that aren't easily emulated. Stuff from 2000 and later and/or stuff that uses a lot of 3D is always a bit risky for universal functionality. I'd say if it works 100% in MAME or in a standard console emulator, it's a good pick. Otherwise, no.

yeah, if we were doing this for SOTM and had months to source affordable copies of imports or whatever, that's cool. But on short notice we kind of need cheap/common games or stuff that's easy to emulate.dsheinem wrote:Hmm, not sure if I can get behind games that aren't easily emulated. Wow, I was not aware of that.skate323k137 wrote:Unfortunately, no. Just "arcade mode" which im 99.999% sure is the white label ("old version"). The 360 port is Japan only isn't it? I always assumed the PS2 port had Black Label since most people hold the PS2 port in higher regard over the X360 port, the PS2 artwork using the Black Label arcade flyer (although now I notice the missing "Black Label" kanji), and the whole debacle of 5pb copy and pasting code from the PS2 port when making the X360 version.
Who knows if it'll even get picked (it does actually emulate pretty well), but if it's vanilla then it's vanilla and we'll enjoy a week of pain.
