Next Gen Opinion?

I'm getting a PS4 about a week before MGS5 comes out for it, whenever that is. Lol

In the meantime there's ALOT of games coming to platforms I already own so they'll keep me busy along with my interest in older titles.

I'm the typical "hang back a generation" retro gamer, so I have no opinion on the Next Gen. I'll be too busy enjoying my new PS3 this Christmas to care about the PS4/XBO.

Canceled my PS4 preorder a few weeks ago when I came on a good deal on the Metal Slugs on MVS and bought one of Christophs CMVS's. I figure PS4s will always be readily be a available but MVS games might not be. If fallout 4 gets announced I will probably crack though haha.

I made a thread about my ennui towards the upcoming consoles. The gist of it is that consoles have been losing the qualities I liked about them, making them feel more like shitty PCs. I eventually decided that I'll just stick to PCs and cut out consoles entirely. At best, I might get an XBone or PS4 a few years down the road. I might get a Wii-U to go with the 3DS I'm planning on getting, but I'm still on the fence.

Considering a Wii U this holiday season, and a PS4 once the library builds up.

Doesn't really matter to me though, I already have far too much backlog on my plate.

Honestly I am just going to wait a few years on the XB1 and the PS4. I hate how Microsoft flip flopped on everything they originally were going to implement with the system. It makes me think that they may patch some of it back in whenever they feel like it. I have always waited on Sony products so I think that even a few years down the road I will be going with the PS4 over the XB1. I am completely content with my WiiU and since Microsoft said that there are going to be 360 game releases for at least the next 3 years I am fine with waiting.

I'm getting an Xbox One I think (preordered) but all of a sudden last week the thought crossed my mind of cancelling it. Spending all that money was already feeling bittersweet compared to past launches, and then Watch Dogs got delayed, which I think is the one launch game that has great potential. I preordered that and COD (yes I enjoy COD), so as of now I'm basically going to be paying $500 to play COD.

I'm in the midst of deciding on another launch game, but absolutely nothing else is blowing my skirt up. The new, "gritty" Dead Rising? Meh. Ryse: Son of Rome looks like crap. Forza will probably be amazing, but I just don't put the time into racing games anymore. Crimson Dragon is the only thing I'm even considering and that's just on the hope that it'll be good. I don't even want to pay $60 for it.

So yeah I don't know what to do.
