Very Impressive Beautiful System!
I have been following your other Thread (Please link in your OP) and learned a few ideas of yours to try out, thank you so much for sharing. The video is very informative, I like how you highlighted each system inside. In honesty I thought you were nuts in building this and using all that wood inside. Now that its all put together, a very nice package! Agree with using that massive mechanical video-audio-controller selector switch versus an electronic alternative, a positive way to ensure compatibility. That wood frame really has to be solid for all the pins to align, nice job!

I especially like your approach in using the NES carts to easily switch out the game controller PCBs, pure genius! Also a nice touch including overlays for quick reference to certain games. I'm still amazed how you managed to make the analog sticks work with the various analog stick systems, I thought there might an issue with the different resistance values in the potentiometers of the different console controllers. Any reason why you picked the standard 15 pin game port connection, possibly integrate older PC flightsticks later on?

Maybe throw some pictures into the OP for a quick reference look? I was trying to find one from your other Thread that showed the complete NES cart controller PCB set for the controller swap. Some may not take the time to look thru the whole video to see how much detail you put into the Project Unity.

I used a D-sub connector because 9 pins from the original PS2 controller I used didn't give enough connections for the Colecovision, didn't fancy using a VGA port, thought the D-sub one looked nicer.

Sure, i'll linky to the work in progress thread on the first post on this thread.

Played a couple of hours on the system today and yesterday, all works fine.

So I guess the big question is- what's next? Do you have any projects in mind for the near future, or are you going to sit back and enjoy the fruit of your labor for a while?

I am playing the system a bit, yes; also making a case with paper mache, a couple of portables and intend to make a handheld version of a multi system with just a few systems installed.

opinions incoming, grain of salt recommended.

+ this is an engineering feat, for sure. it is extremely impressive that you were able to get everything in there and have it function properly. the controller is a cool concept and i like that you were going for uniformity with the system. it's obvious this is a custom job for you and you alone and i'm sure any gamer can appreciate that.

- the build quality of this thing definitely leaves something to be desired in the "attention to detail" department (cart slots crooked, rough looking custom casing, Comic Sans...). i also don't understand the "feeling of nostalgia" argument when the controller itself is kind of a big part of the experience when playing any retro game. i cant imagine playing Super Mario 64 with that weird number pad controller and have it feel anywhere close to natural.

while i personally dislike the design choices you made regarding the system, overall i commend your idea, your work, and your technical prowess; it is obvious that you are a very talented modder.
