OMG THE FREE MARKET IS BEING DICTATED BY SUPPLY AND DEMAND. THIS SUCKS.
It's only worth what someone will pay for it.
The original is a pretty inexpensive cart as it is. Comparisons to Earthbound (WHICH HAS NO DIGITAL RE-RELEASE) are off base.

I thought I was excited for Dragons Crown, but this takes things to a whole different level.

You are incorrect. The price of any game is - in fact - dictated by an invidious and sophisticated cabal of powerful, well-connected, professional videogame resellers.
MWA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!

The only time people pull that line out is when they want to overcharge people and get away with it. Don't you get it? A few jerks with dollar signs in their eyes jack up the price on their copies, and before you know it, EVERYONE thinks they can sell theirs for that price regardless of actual demand or supply. Free market my ass.

I'm not sure what your trying to argue, that the government should regulate the sales of retro video games? that's the silliest thing I have ever heard, I'm sure there are much more important issues in the world. Anyway this is way off topic.

I agree. This is the second time this has come up. We need a dedicated "Supply and Demand Determines Price vs. No, It Doesn't" thread.
Back on topic...Ducktales for the NES is awesome. I am very excited about this game. I am sad that it is not coming out for the 3DS, which would be awesome.

Meh, so the value of an entertainment item is being set by a perceived concept of quality and limited supply, that limit being that it is an item generally only available in specialty shops or online. And the price goes up when people realize there may be a sudden spike in interest of said item, such as an HD release, an updated remake, or something along those lines(an increase in demand). If people are willing to pay inflated prices, then very well, let them pay those prices. If not, the value will decline, or interest may well fade once said updated release comes out and people discover they can purchase the game cheaply in another format.
The thing is, this is supply and demand for a free market. Items really are only worth whatever perceived value people put on it, be it either set by free market or government/legal entities.
As for the price of Duck Tales, I'm not really too concerned. We will wait and see what happens. It could be that once theremade game is released, the value decreases.

Indeed. It would probably look fabulous on the 3DS, but I'm not going to complain. Instead, I'm going to cross my fingers and hope they do the same thing for the sequel and the other Disney-related Capcom games. To have Chip and Dale look more like their animated counterparts would make me squee.

Could this be the dawn of Chip 'n' Dale's MMORPG?
